Hello to you all.
My first brag is : Isn't the internet wonderful?!
I just started using coupons just this week.
(Now that the manufacturers and the stores are in
sinc on how to deal with internet coupons).
I too never used coupons before because they were
scarce and for high priced name brand items I never used.
I want to thank everyone here at the board for being
so kind and helpful.
Okay, for my ultimate first timer brag!
The two grocery stores in my area are Price Chopper and Shaws.
The amount I saved today is half my electric bill for this month.
At Shaws the Quaker Oatmeal is on sale for 2/$4.00. And Kellogg
Cereal also 2/$4.00. I couldn't resist to stock up. With the sale
price minus the coupons I paid $7.00 for 4 boxes of Oatmeal
and 3 boxes of cereal -- Regular price would have been $26.33.
A Savings of $19.33. -- $26.33 worth of items for only $7.00. YES!
At Price Chopper Cheerios is on sale 1/2 off.
Again I couldn't resist.
I bought 7 boxes. After the sale and Double Coupons, my total
bill was $5.55. -- Regular price would have been $23.95.
A Savings of $18.40. -- $23.95 worth of items for only $5.55. YES!
Total cereal items -
Regularly $50.28 - Paid $12.55 - Savings $37.73.
Of course during my shopping trip I saved a bit more on single
items bought with coupons.
I am beginning to like Price Chopper -- for their Double Coupon
Policy. Normally they are a bit more than Shaws. But now I will look
closer at PC sales and my coupons. The savings I could get by their
Double Policy is well worth the bit more of gas to travel to them.
Again, thank you all here for turning my on to couponing.
I am pleased to be a part of this board.
