Not a silly question, at all. Better to learn things from the start, rather than 'pay later'.
My experience is that most Blinkies and 'cats' are manufacturer coupons. It is illegal to use 2 manufacturer's coupons on the same item.

You can usually combine a store coupon and a manufacturer one, but not 2 mannies or 2 store coupons on one product. Target is about the only place where I've seen peelies that are store coupons, the vast majority of peelies are going to be manufacturer ones.

ETA: I don't think I've ever seen store coupons in a blinkie machine.

BION - I did - once! At food lion the blinkies for the $1/1 fozen drink mix last year - they actually said store coupon. Haven't seen that since (but it did say the company would reimburse the store in the fine print)

Actually- You can't stack peelies with paper q's

If they are both manufactures q's that is NOT allowed.

Hope this helps

The important thing is not the type of coupon in terms of how you get it (peelie, blinkie, newspaper, on the box, in a home mailer, as an IP, etc.) but what type of coupon it is in terms of manufacturer or store. You can't put two manufacturer coupons together no matter what kind they are. You can only put a manf with a store.

Sometimes you may be all set to use a coupon you have and discover a peelie on a product. In that case you have to figure out which is the better deal. Unless the peelie prohibits it, you can use your original deal, take the product home, take the unused peelie off and use it at a future time with the same product (within the expiration date).

Okay, a question: At Kroger last week I saw some batteries on sale for 3.99 that I had a $1/1 q for. They had peelies for $1/1 on them that had the Kroger icon on them so I thought they were a store coupon. I combined the two, getting them for 1.99 which I thought was pretty cool but now after reading this I wonder if they were actually 2 manufacturer's coupons and what I did was a no no. I'm not sure exactly as I have 3 week old newborn haze, but I think the machine beeped when I did the two coupons together which would indicate a no no but the cashier pushed them through anyway...
Did I do a no no??

Sounds like those were Kroger coupons.
