Try this site NCSU TurfFiles Decision Aids - Turf & Weed ID it has a pretty interesting weed identifier. It's a little technical but the first step walks you through identifying if it is a broadleaf weed, grass or sedge.
I am coming up empty. The pictures look like a grass of some some sort.

Hubby says it is crabgrass. Just can't remember the specific variety. He said "Welcome to Texas" lol He lived there way back when. Don't know what you do to get rid of it. Or just let it take over.
That is what I was going to say that it is crab grass. We have it in massive forms here in TN, esp in Middle TN!

If you could get a hold of one of the runners, does it stretch out forever, many roots along it's length?
It could well be a type of centipede grass. Not the most soft type of grass but very good and hearty and yes, impossible to kill.
Here in NC we have a lawn of it, intentionally, because it does very well in a drought condition, first to green up, last to brown out each year.
You can dig it up and control it, but you have to be vigilant because it does send out runners and you have to keep it out of areas you don't want it in, if that's what it is.

It looks like a type of plant that makes a small blue flower but I don't know the name.
Have you seen any blooms on it? May not be blooming now even if it's the usual time for it because of the (#$%&) drought.

What kind of weed killer have you used on it?
Is it growing in your regular grass? If so are you trying to keep the regular grass alive...or can the whole patch be killed?
pretty sure we have something similar in our grass...
