Very nice!Sounds like something my hubby would do.
I'm not a gardener at all but live in FL where something is blooming and green all year round.
I noticed under our neighbors bird feeder they were growing huge, tall sunflowers.
I figured some of the seeds fell, and grew. I asked Dh to plant me some, from our parrot's food bowl, under the window where I look out from the office desk, so I could admire them.
He obliged, and we kept checking. They came out with green leaves, but never got tall, just low to the ground and "long?"
He told me today, he thinks he must have planted the squash seeds in our parrot's food, not the sunflower!!
Hilarious! Well, we'll be the first to have our veggie garden in the front of our house!!

Awww, well at least he made an effort! One year we planted cucumbers and cantaloupes too close together and they cross-pollinated into the weirdest creation! We called them cuca-loupes.

I get a bag of oilseed sunflowers and plant them arourn the permiter of my backyard. I add in some mamoth sunflowers and sometimes from green beans. The sunflowers take over the edge of the yard and they act as green bean trellises.
we have 12-14 ft tall sun flower plants and they are not done growing yet :-)
