Default Roses Roses, Oh Beautiful Roses

I figured I would post a few photos of my roses.... They only look good about one month out of the year and that is April so here they are! They are my pride and joy in the yard department!

Nevermind - it won't let me add photos - the size is too big and I don't know how to compress it.

My best rose secret to success is:

When I first got the roses - I did a ton of reading up on them - they can be high maintenance suckers! I fed them, sprayed them for diseases, even tried the milk and water mixture for disease which dang near killed them one summer(don't use it) and the best secret I have found is, water them frequently - they like water, their leaves burn up if you don't, definately "thin" them out in the spring so that disease is harder to start (it tends to start in areas where the leaves are all on top of each other), and don't overfeed and don't over spray for disease. What you see in my photos is just water (I haven't even fed them yet once this spring or sprayed them yet). So I guess they aren't as high maintenance as I thought... And remember, these photos are them at their best - Spring is when they are gorgeous - summer is when they are hard to keep pretty.

How far should I trim mine? They look like wild sticks right now. The leaves are just starting to grow......
