Gardening Catalogs or email newsletters that come with discounts

I was just reading a blog post from jane4girls so credit to her for the tip.

Each year she orders the gardens alive catalog and every year it comes with a coupon for $25 off a $25 order.

What other catalogs have great deals like this?

Time for me to start thinking about what I want to plant this spring!

The Gurney's and Harry Field's I received yesterday both had $off coupons. I think they were both $25 off--don't remember what the order dollar amount had to be.

I can recommend Gurney's--have used their seeds successfully for years. One of my friends uses Harris Seed. I've checked their site and they are the cheapest and he's used them for a few years with very successful harvests.

I just recieved my Gurney's catalog. The coupon is $25 off a $50 order~ Not the best, but it does help~

Gurney's generally are half off type of coupons ($25 of $50, $50 off $100). They do have some good plants though. Of the four cherry trees I got from them last year, I only planted two in good method. The other two I was slow to plant. But all four did better than expected and I should be seeing at least a few cherries this summer. Plus, if you're signed up for the Gurney's email newsletter, they have a lot of decent mini-promos.

Recently I've also gotten the Gardens Alive (I was excited about seeing that coupon ) and Michigan Bulb Co ($20 off $40 order) catalogs, but I haven't ordered from them before.

I usually order from Pinetree Seed Co. They usually offer a few deals, but my main thing is that their regular prices are way, way lower than most other seed catalogs and the quality of the seed isn't compromised. They ship out quickly, have great customer service and I've never had a germination issue. They also have a wide range of open pollinated, heirloom seeds.

I order a lot from Pinetree Gardens, too. Our space is limited and growing conditions aren't great, so I prefer to grow more unusual varieties and buy the common stuff at the farmer's market. Pinetree has a terrific selection of items that you pay a premium for in gourmet seed catalogs. They also have excellent deals on garden books in the back of the catalog.
Another fun source is Artistic Gardens, they used to go by Le Jardin du Gourmet. They offer small sample packets of unusual vegetables and herbs for 35 cents each. Years ago, they used to be the price of a postage stamp and if they ran out of one you ordered, they sent you a stamp instead of cutting a refund check. However, stamps kept going up, so they capped the price at 35 cents.
Don't expect to grow a huge garden from their packets. They only have a few seeds, but if you want to try some new varieties, it's a great way to find out how they'll do without spending a fortune.
