HELP Help With Tomato Plants !!! *Last Update #5 Dang!!!*

Something has eaten all of the the buds and leaves off my tomato plants. Beasts or Bugs I suppose. The stalks look as perfect as ever, no dig marks.

Any ideas? The other plants; zuccini and parsley are fine.
    Do i have picky creatures?

    Update

Most of the leaves have grown back and I have been checking everyday and I'm hoping to have blossoms soon. I have kids checking as well!
I will continue the fight for that which is mine !!!!

    UPDATE #2

I have haven't seen anything. I also have being checking everyday.
Ok.... lots of leaves have grown back but no buds yet I'm hoping to see something soon!

    UPDATE #3
They are back!!!! I went out and checked everything and picked off several icky wormy things and smashed them. Their the ones u all said that were small & brownish, hard to see. I hate to use pesticides but I may have to.

    UPDATE #4
They have been munched on AGAIN!!!
This time it was those HUGE green Caterpillars with the little feelers at the top. They are amazingly "fast" for such small little suckers (in a caterpiller sorta way) I think I may gave to re-plant

    UPDATE #5
They look really awful and I have decided to replant. Better luck next time i suppose.

id suggest fencing of some type or plant a row of onions/garlic around your garden lots of animals dont like the pungent smell or tastre of them. but fencing is your best bet. make sure if you do put up fencing you go into the ground with it because even rabbits burrow ;)

my tomato plants have caused me SUCH STRESS. Squirrels, birds, caterpillars, too much rain, etc etc etc
Once I get rid of one pest/problem, another crops up! I've had no less than 50 tomatoes get to about the cherry tomato size (they are roma and beefstake though) but none any bigger

It could be the tomato hornworm. We had about 4 or 5 of these and they have almost completely destroyed 4 of our 6 tomato plants. Google them and see what they look like. They are very hard to see because they blend in so well with the plant.

try tomato hornworm- look for the poop- that's how i find them!

looks like black bbs- or green bbs if you are right behind the creatures.

when you find the poo, look above it for green hornworm. you may be able to spot the little horn, or the green and white stripes. i cut the leaf off that has the critter and stick it under the mulch- mine is cardboard or newspaper, then step on it. that way i don't see the goo.

SAME thing happened to mine; tomatoes and cucs eaten overnight when they were waiting to be planted. Then we planted and fenced and something dug under the fence. Then we put bricks around the fence and watered and miracle growed what was left of the plants.

The 6 plants I have left (started with 10 plus 2 cucumbers) are now finally getting leaves.

Since the digger moved the bricks, it has hands so I am sure it is a groundhog and not a bunny. I see both of them in my area.

Also could be an armedillo. Last year we had these dig under our fence and neighbors fence. We didn't have a garden last year, but neighbor did and it really messed up his plants. We finally put traps out. When we would catch one, we would take it off to the woods down the street. We haven't had any problems since.

Tomato hornworms are amazingly fast at destroying an entire tomato plants. Don't count them out. We had them one year and they did exactly what you describe happening in your garden. Now we check every few days for them. Since we moved our tomatoes this year we haven't been bothered. But we are still vigilant.
