QUESTION Parsley Plants

I was given some parsley plants and I have no idea how to perm. plant them nor how to keep them alive.

Any advice?

Hi :)

There are several kinds of parsley, but generally the care is the same. They like good light - artificial is fine if it's strong enough. I use CFLs and my herbs do good.

Water - let the surface dry out a bit between waterings. Use the finger-in-the-soil test and when it's dry down about 2", water.

Prune - every place you make a cut on a stem, it will split and grow two stems. This is how you control height vs width. If you want tall, let the stems grow up for a while before prunning. If you want a shorter, wider plant, trim more often. Never take off more than half of the leaves and the plant will do fine.

In peace,

Annye

I planted some last year. We didn't do much to them but water them. They grew very well in the sunlight. I planted them in good soil, and watered them every other day.

Thank you for the advice. I'm excited and what to get more herbs and start my own herb garden.

We have a grown light in the house that was used for our turtles but since the turtles have moved I can use that light for the plants.
