Default What to do w/ Apples, Pears & Plums?

So we are piucking our plums this week. Then a friend called to say that her pears and plums are ready now and apples would be ready in the next couple weeks. So we are going to be giving these away like crazy to those who can't come and pick themselves. But we still keep plenty for our family. But I need some new ideas on what to do with them this year. Ofcourse we make the usual: applesauce, (flavored w/ strawberries and cranberry too!) dried apple slices, canned sliced pears, dried plums (prunes) and plum syrup.

There has to be something else we can do with these items!!!

Any ideas/recipes/thoughts/links...

TIA!!!

Denise~

For pears, I like to roast them in the oven for a dessert.
1. Slice them in half, scoop out any seeds/remove core and stem.
2. Drizzle a little honey or maple syrup on them
3. bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 (or until soft).
4. For an extra sweet treat, top with mini chocolate chips while still hot out of the oven.

I also like to put pears in a fresh spinach salad with blue cheese and pecans. Greek or other olive oil based dressings go best.

We recently got some free pears off Craig's list. I made yummy pear butter (I keep looking for the recipe, I can't find it) and dried pears. The girls ate the dried pears as fast as I could dry them... have fun!!!!

Hi everyone!!!

Thanks so much for the ideas!!! We picked the plums on Wed. and the apples/pears last night so I will be having one busy weekend!!! I can't wait to try many of these ideas!!!

We've done dried apples slices w/cinnamon and dried plums (prunes!) but I never thought to dry pears. I thought their water content was too high and you wouldn't be left with much- but I'm going to try a batch tomorrow and see how they turn out! Should I cinnamon them?
