| Re: Wind Chimes Oh, I love them, too! Got several, and some that need to be restrung. Believe me, it is not easy (at least its not for me). I've one long set that cost me over $60, it is tuned. Each chime is a note and they together almost play music.
The string rots in the sun and weather, and I've tried to put them back together with lightweight fishing line. My main problem is that I can't find anywhere to hang them up to work on them, without putting up a hook in the ceiling or something. I just haven't put a lot of thinking into it, so there's probably a way that is easy and I haven't found it yet.
I can remember the first time I ever heard and saw windchimes. I was a kid, playing with the girl living next door. We went to her grandmother's house, and on the patio was a little wind chime, tinging and dinging away. I was absolutely taken with it, never having even known such a thing existed.
I'd like to have several on the front and on the back. The harmonies from the large deep tones along with the higher tings and tongs from the smaller is so pretty.
Walmart has some on clearance in the Garden Shop, $19 for some big ones, and $3 for small ones. The clearance stuff is not obvious, you have to look for it. |
