Great tips, y'all! Swatkitty - your garden looks great! I also really enjoyed playing "Where's Max" in the first picture.

Wow I love what you did with the newspaper. I will have to show dh as he is the tiller man in this house. I wish i knew how to rep ya.
I also have plenty of Sunday papers. Thanks for sharing.

It is so strange because my screen is a dull orange and grey blah. If I log on in my sons room it is awesome. Bright colors and ads flashing. I may have to go back to his computer. I wonder why the difference?

Huh! That's odd that the colors would be that different. Did the color brightness get changed on your set? Or did your son crank his up?

The reps are on the left sidebar thingy under the poster's name, now. In the bottom of the box. (if that makes ANY sense?) It's still the scales but is a pale gray and doesn't really stand out as much now.

Oh! And we did rototill before we planted... and at the end of the season, we'll till it all under again. Newspapers and all!

No ads yet here but the outline orange is now darker for me. Either my screen is haywire or our awesome HCW staff is hard at work.

Thanks for telling me were the reps are!!

I am blind as a bat (need bifocals). When I leave a thread the writing turns from black to gray and I am lost again. LOL

Your newspaper method is how we tend to our worm bed, minus the tiller. No wonder the newspapers work so well your making the soil richer. Have you noticed works when you till at the end of the season?

Okay, i thought i was the only one with weeds taller than my veggie plants, lol! No seriously, I need to get out there tomorrow and do this, i have heard of it, but wasn't so sure about doing it after the veggies are planted.

we use the Garden Weasel on our. I've never liked all the plastic and black weed cloths, and the papers and such don't go well with my mound method. A Weasel can be used with 1/2/3 tines though and works wonders since it pulls the weeds right up. We use it daily when its really moist or every couple when it dies down. I've never had so few weeds. I'll have to get some pics up finally.

Thanks for posting the tips and the pictures. That information is just priceless!! I was trying to think of a way to recycle the newspapers without having to drive to the recycle center. This is perfect!
