I thought the only threads you couldn't edit are the auctions and HUTC. Was there a different thread besides those?
To answer your question tho, I have no idea why you can't in HUTC anyway, auctions I can undertsand.
Why, on some threads can you edit your posts but then on others, you can't edit your own posts??? What do you do if you want to edit your post on a thread that won't let you? Why is it that way anyways?

I have multiples of each weeks inserts. PM me for easy trades. I just might have what your needing.
Oh ya - I have edited in Daily living threads, I think, and trade threads, and this thread will allow me to edit what I type and I know there are more, just can't think of them off hand.
I think if anything, the HUTC forum SHOULD have the edit feature because sometimes people say pretty harsh things in there, maybe without thinking, and if they could edit it might keep some tempers from flaring.
I think it's up the forum mod as to whether you can edit, though not positive on that.

You are so right! I also like to be able to edit - not because I might have said something harsh (I try not to do that - hope I am successful) but sometimes I type so fast that it isn't until after I post it - that I realize, I mispelled things and have run on sentences.... And I have noticed that I can edit in some threads and not others and have always wondered why. Because it doesn't have to do with whether I started the thread or not...![]()
You cannot edit in the hot under the collar forum because we had issues a while back ago when people would post a rant about something and then when they got feedback that the did not like from the community they went into and edited their post to say nothing. So in essence a select few ruined it for all.
Additionally the auctions forum and classified form are non edit as well to prevent sellers and bidder from changing either their auction/classified listing or bids.
In all other forums members may edit their posts up to one year (365 days) after a post is made. Super mods and admin can edit a post forever.
Hope that helps explain it.

Actually, I think that HUTC should remain as is. While I understand that tempers flare, I think it's a good deterrence for bridling one's tongue & not saying hurtful things in the first place.
Auctions: Things are not allowed to change after a bid is placed & not all know that, so it's best to not allow that feature.
And I know there's a couple of more forums where you can't edit, but I don't know which right now.
