Applebee’s – free meal, Friday, Nov. 11: Last year, Applebee’s served 1,024,000 million free meals to military veterans and active servicemembers. Applebee’s is again offering a free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members on Veteran’s Day, Friday, Nov. 11, 2011. There will be 7 entrées to choose from. Chili’s – free meal, Friday, Nov. 11. Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of 6 meals. This offer is available during business hours on November 11, 2011 at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included. Denny’s Veterans Day Appreciation Event, Nov. 11. 2011. Free Grand Slam breakfast to any veteran from 6:00am – 10:00pm. Only valid in Syracuse, Rochester, and Buffalo areas. Call ahead to verify, and check with your local Denny’s if you live in another area.

Golden Corral – Free meal, Monday Nov. 14: The 10th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation dinner will be held on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 5 pm to 9 pm in all Golden Corral Restaurants nationwide. The free “thank you” dinner is available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. If you are a veteran, retired, currently serving, in the National Guard or Reserves, you are invited to participate in Golden Corral’s Military Appreciation Monday dinner. If you are in Boston, the UFood Grill chain offers a free meal on Veterans Day only at its Boston restaurants (2 locations): As UFood Grill Prepares to Expand Into the Military Channel, the Company's Boston Restaurants Mark Veterans Day With Free Meals for Veterans at Local Restaurants

They have done this for a few years, but I'm disappointed that they are actually offering this at fewer restaurants than they did in the past.

Hy-Vee Celebrates Veterans Day With
Free Breakfast For Veterans

WEST DES MOINES, IA. — Hy-Vee stores throughout the Midwest will once again honor America’s veterans on Veterans Day with a free breakfast in appreciation of their service to the country.

Randy Edeker, Hy-Vee president, said the event has grown in popularity each of the last several years, with more than 80,000 free breakfasts served in 2010.

“Hy-Vee’s Veterans Breakfast is one of the most rewarding activities we sponsor each year,” Edeker said. “It’s an opportunity for communities to come together to thank our veterans for the sacrifices they have made to secure our freedoms.”
