Offering free rides on its local fixed route service and Open Door paratransit service on Thursday, June 16.

Johnstown, PA - Cambria County Transit Authority (CAMTRAN)
We will be offering free rides on all urban and rural fixed route buses all day June 16th.* Also, on our reserve a ride buses if you bring a friend you ride for free.

Kingston, PA - Luzerne County Transportation Authority
People who board LCTA buses on Thursday will receive a free pass, good for unlimited use all day for all scheduled routes

We will run a 2-week promotional campaign which includes free ride coupons for our riders.

A coupon to ride for free on that day will be available on our website and will also be handed out at our main depot.*

All fixed routes will be FREE on June 16th, 2011.

This year's Dump the Pump celebration will be Thursday, June 16, with free bus fare.

Palm Beach, FL – PalmTran
Passengers boarding at any of the agency’s six Park and Ride locations will receive a free all day pass to try the system.*

Pompano Beach, FL – Broward County Transit Division
Offering a freeAll-Day BCT Bus Pass when riders give us your gasoline receipt and sending out a press release.

Pompano Beach, FL – South Florida Regional Transportation Authority
We are going to be providing free train rides all day.

Research Triangle, NC – Triangle Transit
Triangle Transit regional, express, and shuttle routes and all DATA local routes will be free in recognition of National Dump the Pump day.

Albany, NY – Capital District Transportation Authority
We would also like to invite people to take a “Dump the Pump” pledge for the day to get a free CDTA Day pass and a chance to win 3 months of CDTA passes.

Ann Arbor, MI - Ann Arbor Transportation Authority
We will also be handing out buttons and fact sheets based on APTA’s at the local Green Fair that will be held on June 10.

Austin, TX - Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority
Kicked off a contest whereby our riders can share their creative testimonials about dumping the pump, and the best entry will pin an iPad2 and other prizes totaling $860.

Butler, PA – Butler Transit Authority
Providing giveaways at their downtown terminal.

Chattanooga, TN – Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority
We have also scheduled a bus ride along for two local on-air personalities on next Thursday, who will help promote this event for us, and live call-ins to the radio station are scheduled where we will give away 31 Day Unlimited Ride passes.

Cincinnati, OH – Cincinnati Metro
Having an event on Dump the Pump Day at Fountain Square where people spin a wheel of prizes to win Metro items, Cricket Wireless merchandise, or even a chance to go inside a money machine to grab as many flying bus passes and Cricket Wireless coupons as possible in 30 seconds. From June 16 through Aug. 19, 2011, people can enter the contest to win a shot at grabbing up to $4,500 in cash.

Columbus, OH - Central Ohio Transit Authority
Our DTP Day event at Broad and High will include bike strap, water bottle, shoulder bag, silly band giveaways, etc. We will also be giving people the chance to win a Kindle “to read on the bus ; )”. If they show up, sign the “I commit to Dump the Pump and try transit” bus and get their picture taken (with their own cell phone) with a sign that estimates how much money they would save (according to the gas calculator) and upload it to our new Facebook page (being launched 6/15).

Corpus Christi, TX - The Corpus Christi Regional Transportation Authority
The Corpus Christi RTA also wants to hear how the local community is Dumping the Pump by visiting the Corpus Christi RTA Facebook page. Participants who share their Dump the Pump stories can win bus passes and Harbor Ferry passes.

Will have insulated tote bags to give away to riders.

Greensboro, NC – Greensboro Transit Authority
We are encouraging our citizens to come forward with the best clean joke regarding fuel prices or the automobile. The winner will get a Heckle the Pump experience that includes a pair of tickets to see national comedian Martin Lawrence in concert, dinner for two and bus passes for two.

Jacksonville, FL – Jacksonville Transportation AuthorityAs we reach certain milestones in the number of pledges, a drawing for a free week-long bus pass will take place from the entrees.

Kittanning, PA – Town and Country Transit
Rides are free on all of Town and Country Transit's buses Thursday in celebration of National Dump the Pump Day.



Lancaster, PA – Red Rose Transit Authority
Each year RRTA encourages riders to “tell us their story” on how they have “Dumped the Pump.”* Entries are placed into a drawing.* The Grand Prize winner will receive a FREE year of transit on any RRTA bus route.*

Las Vegas, NV – Regional Transportation Commission
Giving out free Krispy Kreeme donuts at bus stops.

Minneapolis, MN – Metro Transit
Offering a contest if riders try transit at least once before June 30, you have a chance to win great prizes by taking the Commuter Challenge, including an Amazon Kindle (3 winners), Apple iPad (3 winners), and a Netbook (3 winners)

Orange, CA – Orange County Transportation Authority
We are encouraging commuters to pledge for a chance to win prizes, and after pledging they have an opportunity to play a trivia game to get a free one day bus pass.

Painesville, OH – Laketran
We’ll be giving away prizes to new riders and local radio station 1330 AM WELW will be doing a live remote during the event. *We are also going to give all our fixed route and commuter express riders a coupon book from local businesses to encourage them to spend the money their saving on gas, locally here in Lake county.

Peoria, IL - Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (CityLink)
On the 16th a local radio personality from Power 92 will broadcast his afternoon show from a bus stop and he will have a Pepsi Hut giving away prizes. Also, giving away lapel pins to employees and passengers.

Pompano Beach, FL – Broward County Transit Division
Offering a free all day BCT bus pass when riders give us their gasoline receipt.

We will be giving away 500 DTP tee-shirts.

Reading, PA - Berks Area Regional Transportation Authority
Holding an essay contest where consumers can tell BARTA how “dumping the pump” is a benefit to themselves, our community and the environment.* The winner will receive one year’s worth of free bus passes and the runner-up will receive three 31-Day Passes.

Riverside, CA – Riverside Transit Agency
RTA will give away a free iPod Touch to the winner of a “Dump the Pump” art contest that highlights the benefits of riding the bus during a time of sky-high gas prices.

San Carlos, CA - San Mateo County Transit District
We plan to pass out Dump the Pump buttons and facts sheets.

Having an open house at our transit center with a hot dog cookout, ride pass giveaways, and discounted 30 day ride passes.

We will pass out Dump the Pump buttons and Metro Choice brochures. *As an extra incentive (smile), we will also provide free coffee from Starbucks and free pastries from Costco.
