I am not loving restaurant.com.
It seems like a good deal, but:
1. the restaurants offering the deals are usually not great, and need traffic. At least in my area, they are very seedy.
2. the restaurants change the rules without warning. I have a fistful of them that I am having trouble using. For ex, a cuban rest. in NJ near me- when I call ahead of time to verify they still take said "oh we only take on tues at certain times". It does not say that on the coupon. That is not fair. I learned to call ahead because I went to one rest. near me with another couple, sat down and tried to use it and was turned down and embarrassed? That happened to me once, and I wound up paying full price. They should honor the terms on the coupon. My husband was mortified and swore off restaurant.com then and there.
3. they make up rules like "not available on specials" but hide the rules on you. Then what can you do?
My Dad showed the waitress at an Italian joing the coupon, and she blew him off saying "we take those later" but then he proceeded to order the special, and she wouldn't take the coupon. It did not say that on the coupon. Trust me, my Dad is quite the fighter and he got into a near fist fight argument in all italian with the manager and they would not bend. Of course he left no tip, but that is just not fair that my poor Momma got embarrassed and my Dad got indigestion over the whole thing .
4. the amount you have to spend is usually quite high.
5. we just don't eat out too much. Too expensive! Even with the coupon, you wind up spending too much and I can cook a truly awesome meal at home for less than a buck or two for a whole group of people.

Reps to you though. I did this last time and will do it again, but boy it is too restrictive and I probably will never use the Qs.

I wound up going through all the energy to send this last time to so many friends and not a single one did it. When I brought it up they all said "oh that email you sent me? yeah, never had a chance to look at it, sorry." Their loss, as I won't be giving them a free certif. again this time.
