| Re: Freebie Tips I'm sure most of you have already heard of/use these but I think they are worth mentioning for people who haven't.
These are my 2 favorite helps for freebie surfing:
**I have used Roboform form filler (the free version) for years. The free version has always performed great for me with just the click of a button to fill out almost all forms (some sites do make it to where you have to fill out the form manually, but that doesn't seem to happen very much). It will also remember passwords for you, but I haven't used that part of it. It is very dependable and will automatically notify you if there is an update to the software. Small download and also is compatible with Firefox, which is the browser I use.
**I also have gotten an internet number instead of giving out my real home number. Most of the time you can get away with this, only some sites catch onto the fact that the area code is not in your area. I use the K7 site and have for the past maybe 6months. It comes in handy when a site absolutely has to have a number to receive a freebie. I never put in my number at first - why give one if you don't have to. And I also didn't put my real name in when I registered at this site. It's a simple 4 to 5 blanks such as name/email and password and confirming password signup. It says if you don't use it in 30days you are deleted. I had my first number and only got a couple of calls which I chose to have forwarded to my email account in .wav form (or you can just pick up messages on the site) and evidentally haven't had any in 30days. Guess no one from the sites I signed up on called the number (or maybe just didn't leave messages....who knows). So since I couldn't get back in with that number today, I just signed up again and got another number. It was really easy.
Also as a general rule, I always look for a link/button/picture link on every site when surfing around that could possibly take you to their freebie / sweepstakes / giveaways. Good words to look for besides free are: promotions, sweepstakes, promos, what's new, samples or offers. You get the idea. Big companies usually have something like this even if it's just for coupons or new products--but you never know what's behind the link....it could be a free offer. And it's surprising the amount of small companies/websites that have offers to get something free. It's just an ingrained thing for me after so many years of enjoying the rewards of the internet.
HTH someone LOL! I'm really not sure what I did with my time before the computer! |
