Do you read the Jewel Osco Sales Ad?
***What I mean by the Poll***
Do you Read the Typed Out (by me here on HCW) Jewel's Sales Ad?

I’ve decided to compose the weekly Jewel Sales Ad a little different this week as you can see from Sales Ad Thread.

Currently at this time I’m not sure how many members utilize the typed sales ad, but it seems as if there are not a lot of responses each week as far as the deals are concerned.

It takes at least an hour of my time to type up the sales ad. It takes another ten minutes or so to go though the paper and find the spotted deals for everyone to take advantage of. Lastly another fifteen minutes to type up the spotted deals and post the information to the thread.

I find it to be disappointing that I spend this lengthy period of time each and every week to hardly get a response from everyone.
Going forward I’m not going to continue to type 90% of the ad, but rather display the weekly deals as I’ve done so this week.

Thanks
Lauren

Lauren, is your poll asking if I read the Jewel/Osco ad or your posts?

The ad? yes...pour over it 3-4 times most every Tuesday night....

The posts? (here or anywhere)...I prefer the hot deal alerts. But that is just my way...my mind seems to pick up the deals from the ad better if I see the pics and read the ad. The long list of sales doesn't work for me. (regardless if it is Jewel ad or Walgreens ad or Target)....a long list of items and prices doesn't work well for me.

I do like the deals put together...and do like the 10/$10 items or B1G1 listed.

That is just me....no clue how everyone else does it and am sure there are others that enjoy the lists.

I was thinking of the paper ad when I voted, so I may be throwing you off. Like the above said, I love the 10 for 10 lists and the like, but poring over the ad is a diningroom table activity for me.

I didn't vote because I wasn't sure what to vote. I agree with Justhereasec I prefer hot deals and seeing everything in a list doesn't help me at all. I need the actual ad most of the time to spot deals on my own. I like sharing deals of the week and reading other people's deals. That seems to help me alot more!

I too was thinking you meant the physical ad. The typed list doesn't do much for me either. The only thing that's nice is to have the preview for coupon collecting. Maybe you could just put what is hot. For those that don't get the ad they can go to the web site and look at it.

Dang I didn't read all the way through - I get the ad in the paper on Tuesday and really read it over well. I don't much care for doing it online because it is just too hard for my eyes for some reason - plus I like to have my list, my Q's and my sharpie next to me at all times to jot down things - then I come in here for notes and hope to share what I've found. (which is usually nothing - someone has already found them)

Lauren,

Thanks for your post and input. Personally, I do read the ads. I do better having photos or something in front of me. I super super appreciate the deals that you lay out and the matching of coupons etc. I'm still fairly new to Jewel and really am having a hard time finding a lot of deals (or maybe what I consider really good deals because we are trying to get a house and I am trying to be super frugal!) If it wasn't for everyone elses input, I would truly be lost. I do see where you are coming from though. In my opinion, whatever works for you and your time. I appreciate everyones comments and the work you do!

I like to see it because I don't get an ad, so the earliest I can look at it is Thurs am online.
Your previews gave me a couple of extra days to see if there are any good deals or things I need

I apologize for not acknowledging your hard work- I just don't like to read alot of 'thanks, thanks, thanks' kinds of posts, so I did not want to do that myself

I can totally understand you not wanting to spend an hour typing up the ad- that is crazy

is there any way to scan/post them like they do for the cvs and wag ads? I am more of a visual person and can sometimes 'see' a deal better with pictures.
