FAQ OUTDATED INFO & BAD LINKS ~ Everything you need know about saving at Food World

Food World website

FOOD WORLD Home Page

Store Card?

You have to have a Bonus Value card to get the sale prices at Food World. They are easy enough to get -- you can apply online or in the store. If you don't have your card with you, the cashier can use your phone number.

Senior Citizens Day

Seniors age 60+ can apply for a Senior Bonus card and use it to take and extra 5% off their bill every Wednesday.
You can print out the application here
Senior Bonus Value Card @ FOOD WORLD
then fill it out and return it to your store for acceptance.

Does Food World double coupons?

YMMV, depending on the market you're in. You need to check with the manager, but if other stores in the area do, there's an excellent chance your Food World does also. And if they do, they will double up to .50 everyday up to 10 like coupons. Some stores will not accept internet printed coupons.

RainChecks

If your store is out of a sale item, just ask for a raincheck. These are given out at the customer service desk.

Price Accuracy Guarantee

It is the policy of Food World Stores to guarantee accurate pricing at the registers.
If your item rings up MORE than the shelf tag says, you get the first of that item for free and any others you have purchased for the lower price. This policy is usually posted behind the service desk and signed by the store manager.

While the Food Worlds in the Bham area do seem to double, I don't think the policy was unlimited. I think it was limited to 10 of a like coupon with "none sold to dealers" posted at the register. I try to "fly under the radar" as they say here so I've never tested the policy.

There is a limit of 10 like cpns. at my Foodworld also. The manager has me to make separate orders when I have more than 10 so they will all get doubled.

I have some questions:

For the buy 1 get 2 free items it states "in addition to a $25 purchase."

My total before discounts was $33.95 but after Bonus savings and coupons it came down to $11.08. I knew that my total with Bonus savings alone would only be about $20 so I didn't try to get the B1G2 item I wanted. So which total do they look at: Grand total, after bonus savings but before coupons, or bottom line?

Also, for the catalinas it says "not subject to doubling" but it begins with a 5 and food world doubles coupons up to 0.50 so would they still double?

Note: I purchased a can of might dog "selects" today and recieved 2 catalinas for 0.50 off of 4 pedigree pouches. Only a good deal if they'll double them!

Sorry I did not see your question earlier.
1-My store says it has to be 25.00 before the b1g2 item. There is a really good cashier at my Dora store that will wait and scan my card after she rings everything up - that way I get around the limits - but according to other stores she isn't suppose to do this.
2-Food world is suppose to double up to .50 with your bonus card. Most of the coupons they double say dnd and it hasn't been an issue for me.
But unfortunately the stores are making up their own rules as they go. I always check my crt and I haven't had a coupon not double. No coupon will double w/o the bonus card being scanned.

Thanks! I'm heading over there today so I needed to know. What about specials like the "feed a family for 13.98" You buy two pizzas and you get all those other items for free. Do the retail values of the free items count towards the $25 total? Probably not, huh, since they're required to scan your card first. I imagine the price adusts as it rings up.

You would think I shouldn't have such a hard time spending $25! LoL

yes unfortunately - & try to find a cashier with seniority and she may help you out and scan the card last. also make sure your feed a family is correct - they are notorious for being wrong on the first day - and sometimes just have to slide the stuff because it isn't in the system.

This may by YMMV. I'm in Mobile and I've always been able to purchase more than the limit without a $25 sale. I was able to get 9 boxes of the DH brownie mix without purchasing a single other item. Same with the Jiffy Cornmeal mix, Homestyle Bakes, Tina Burritos, and several other items that I can't seem to think of right now. Doesn't seem to matter which cashier is ringing me up.
