Buy 2get 1 free-how do they ring up?

I noticed the stand up bags of Reese's is buy 2 get 1 free and there is a coupon out for $2/2. So do they ring up 1/3 off or full price then subtract the price of the free one? Just wondering how to use this coupon! Thanks

on a B2g1, Food Lion rings the first 2 at full price, the third one rings up at 0.00.

I am pretty sure that the $1 only gets applied to the two you are buying....so it would be like .50 cents off each.
