Food Lion ~ Question: internet coupons

Has anyone else had this issue? I went into one of my FL a couple days ago. A couple of weeks ago i spotted some Right Guard Deo that had marked down. So this time I took in my coupons that I had printed from coupons.com. I had several of these and only 1 insert coupon. they wouldn't accept the printed coupons. said they would only accept printed FL coupons or from their scanner due to fraud. Needless to say I had her take them all off except for 1 that I had an insert coupon for. Has anyone else experienced this? I also have had this issue at one of my walmarts.

Their policy is that they are supposed to accept them BUT it is really up to each individual store manager's discretion whether they do or not. If you call corporate they will pretty much always back the store if they refused to take one.

I know that stinks and I wish I had a better answer or something you could print out and take to the store but FL hasn't had a clear written coupon policy in ages.

The coupon policy, in general, is totally up to each store manager's interpretation - some will gladly take IPs, some will take one or two but no more, and some will not take them at all. At the FL stores around here - I have one that won't take them at all, one that will, and one in-between.

Well, for Food Lion, it seems to be a crap shoot. There is no definite store policy on the issue...they leave the discretion up to the store managers on IP acceptance and limits. I'd suggest talking to the manager and showing him/her that each coupon has a unique security code or PIN on it. If they still won't take them, you can either call FL's customer service (YMMV) or just work around the frustrating policies as best you can.

My store used to do the same thing so I stopped shopping there for a while. A couple weeks after I was denied use of IP's I went back and tried to use my IP's and no one said a thing about them....who knows???

As for Walmart, they have their coupon policy right on their internet site for anyone to see. It clearly states that they will accept IP's. I'd print out that policy and bring it with you next time you shop there.

It seems that this is an issue that creeps up and dies down from time to time with ALL stores.

Over the past week or so my IP's have been turn down at 3 different FL's. I remember a long time ago I couldn't get them to take ANY IP not even their own FLIPS. That was a PITA!!

well I can understand why, today I was in FL and the girl in front of me used 3 free pepsi 12 packs and 6 free doritos all ips .. pretty sure they are all fake .... and someone at our food lion wiped out all the capri sun using the fl printable they said she bought like 50 and wanted them to order them for her and I also was told she was not the only one coming in with hand fulls of the capri sun coupon so now they have signs posted 1 per household per day. I will never understand why people dp that and now they will probably be a PITA with couponers and they were so great ... ugghhh.. how frustrating

the doritos coupons is a counterfit for sure and i would assume the pepsi is... the capri suns says one per transaction, per person, per day ... so the store should never have let them buy 50 in one transaction

i would have made sure to tell them about the counterfit coupons ( not brave so i would have waited til the person in front left so they would know for next time)

as for good IPs when stores say u cannt use that i always ask for a manager and i point out the code or tell them show me your computer and ill show u where they come from... the manager usually say "go ahead and take them" good luck

my FL would not take my OM Deli meat IP the other day so no free/cheap sandwich meat for me.

Hi all. I read all of your posts about Food Lion's coupon policy and I wanted to reply. I've been a Food Lion associate now since 2007 and Food Lion does have a coupon policy; however, it is not publicly available (unfortunately).

Company policy is that Food Lion does accept Internet coupons-coupons printed from an internet website; however Food Lion does not accept Internet coupons for free items [according to Food Lion's Coupon Acceptance Policy updated 10/08/09)

do you know if they are going to stop the weekly companion coupons that are food lion coupons, that normally come in our emails .. last week they were manufacturer from a website ??

Looks like this week we are back to the normal FLIPS!
