Food Lion ~ Other: Food Lion Survey via Email - anyone else get it?

I got an email on 6/10 asking for me to participate in a survey. The survey was all about their taglines and if those taglines applied to me or how I viewed them. They wanted opinions, not just a radio button survey so I emphasized that while their taglines (and there were about a dozen) sound good, the fact remained that many times I could do better at their competitors stores that double coupons in my area, etc.

Here is what the email said:

Dear Food Lion Customer Panel Member*: We are contacting you today to invite you to participate in our latest online survey. This survey will help us better serve our customers, and should take less than 15 minutes to complete. To thank you for your efforts, you will be entered into our sweepstakes for a total of $500 in prizes! Two grand prize winners will each receive a $100 Food Lion gift card and six second prize winners will each receive a $50 Food Lion gift card. (For complete Sweepstakes rules, please click on the link at the bottom of this email). In order to be automatically entered into the sweepstakes, you will need to complete this survey by Monday, June 14, 2010.

And I don't recall signing up as a 'survey' member so don't know why I got it but was happy to have a chance to tell them how I felt about their pricing, competition etc.

It was interesting. Did anyone else get this? I'm hoping it's a prelude to considering the Raleigh area market for doubles???:shrug7:

Yep, I got the same survey. I believe they sent it to those who signed up for the weekly shoppers companion.

Interesting - hoping it means they're looking seriously at what customers want, besides nice sounding taglines.

They were scheduled to open two Bloom stores (which double coupons and owned by FL) in the Raleigh area and canceled those and instead will be using those locations for FL instead.

We already have a gazillion FL's and they are not very busy anytime I've popped in. They can't compete overall with all the other chains in the area that all double coupons, three major chains.

Hopefully they will realize that promises in words of 'best prices' means little when the register tape keeps leading me to other stores that double coupons.

I did my best to impress that upon them in the survey.

Since they're test marketing double coupons in Atlanta, we can hope they'll spread that concept to other regions???

I received this as well, and I told them the same thing about their major competitors in our area doubling/tripling coupons.

I got it and I'm in TN. I also told them that they just don't have a dog in the fight since I have Kroger and that as much as I would love to shop there, it just isn't cost efficient. It also is a lot more stress free at Kroger.
