I think that is a wonderful holiday story! Congrats!
The local Food Lions always have the best trees-- they are so fresh that even after 2 weeks inside they are barely dropping any needles.
The 2 stores closest to us have already sold out, so the CS lady told me to try another store. We were going to be closer b/c of DS 3 year appt, so what the heck.
The lady said that they had one tree left, and it was OKish. Not Charlie Brown, but not fab, either. I asked her how much they were this year, and she said that if I saw it and wanted it, I could just have it.
So I went, it was there, and decent enough. Strapped it to my car and brought it home.
It's a little on the cylindrical side, rather than cone shaped, but that's actually better for the space we have for it.
Yay for free stuff!
