Thank you so very much for the ad preview. I appreciate your efforts greatly. It looks like a ground sirloin week to me. I'll get the roasts that they have on sale and ask them to grind it for me. Learned that tip from a helpful poster. Most of the grocery budget will go there this week. Thanks again!

Which sirloin do you use for this? And do you just ask the meat dept. to grind it for you?

If you look at the Food Lion forum, you will see a preview for Food Lion that begins 10/14. At the very top front page is a sirloin roast on sale for 1.77/lb. You just pick one of those babies up and ring the little bell at the meat department. They will grind it for you at no charge. It's really good this way. Another poster got me started doing this and it really saves alot of money vs. buying ground round or ground chuck and I like the meat alot better. There's hardly any fat in it at all. I'm told that it is equivalent to 90/10. HTH, Necie

They will cut any way you want. I sometimes have steaks off large end, then maybe a roast, and then grind some of smallest end. Usually have smallest end ground as maybe a little fat or gristle there. Sometimes a couple roasts or all steaks except for small end or all ground. Depends on what I have in freezer. $1.77 is an excellent price!!!!!!!!!
