Food Lion ~ Question Does your FL double coupons? - Page 12

All righty then. I really did not think about the catalinas being manufacturer coupons--it just never entered my mind. Since that's the case I totally get why it didn't work.

I just got back from Food Lion. I watched the girl real close for about half the time she was doing my coupons, but then another girl came over to bag my groceries and she was asking me about something I got. I saw the cashier write the amounts on the coupons for the kraft buy 3 get something free and saw her scan them then do something with the keys. I always look at my receipts before I go, I don't shop at Food Lion very often so not real familiar with their receipts, it says at the bottom "coupons tendered $14.83". I'm thinking they must just not show each amount of the coupons so leave. Now at home I look closer and it also says later "MVP savings of $14.83". So I total up my whole receipt and she didn't take ANY of my coupons off. I even had some that were not the Kraft that should have just scanned right off.

I can't go back today, is there anyway tomorrow they can even do anything about it? Right now my coupons should be in her drawer. Should I call them now and talk to the manager?

I'd go ahead and call, otherwise it may be a little difficult to prove which coupons you had.

definitely call and definitely make sure you have your receipt handy so they know which cashier and which drawer it would be in. I hope they can get it straightened out. That has never happened to me before.

Thanks, I did call and talk to the manager. She pulled up the journal entry while I was on the phone with her and confirmed that the coupons were not taken off. They were very busy at the time so she took my name and phone number and said she would call me back as soon as the lines were down and she could get into the drawer. She called back with in the half hour

She had found all of my coupons ($18.91 worth!) and said she rang them through and there is an envelope in the safe with my refund in for me to pick up tomorrow.

A $38 total sounds much better then the $57

I always check my receipt before I leave Food Lion. I have had three instances within the last two weeks where some of my coupons did not scan. Also, be careful when you have a coupon for a free item. They do not always take off the correct amount. There have been several times where they just made up an amount to take off, and it was way less than what the product cost.

I had handed her the five coupons I had that needed the price for them along with the five products and watched her scan them and write the amount on them. So I knew she had the right amount. But then I think the problem began when she scanned them, of course it beeped, and rather then enter the amount I think she didn't know what to do so did nothing!

I would have caught that she didn't scan any of the others but another girl came over to bag my grociers and I had found this cute little coin purse with kitties on it, she was asking me where I had found it so I stopped paying attention to the cashier. Lesson learned, pay attention!

But I am very happy with the way the manager handled it and I made sure she knew I really appreciated the helpful and professional way she handled it. I don't do a lot of business with them but she may have earned a little bit more from me, I will just stay away from that cashier
