Love my Food Lion

Im fairly new to HCW & am loving it.

Just curious if anyone else is a dedicated Food Lion shopper? Even though they dont double coupon, I really enjoy shopping at my Food Lion.

It's the only store for 50 miles, i have no choice and I hate it.

I only go to Food Lion for the coupons, rebate forms and free or super cheap items. I have a Harris Teeter across the street. HT is so much nicer and HERE the prices are almost the same and HT does double Q. Food Lion seems to rarely front thier shelves and the fact they don't honor both store coupons along with manufacture coupons is just insane. It is almost like they would rather you use the store coupon when the Manufacturer coupon will give them the money back! The cashiers seem to know next to nothing, and truly at mine, they hire what Harris Teeter won't. It isn't nearly as clean and thier customer service is nothing compared to Harris Teeter. Even the parking lot isn't nearly as nice. And this goes for ALL the Food Lions that are around me. There are 7 that I have been to and they are all the same. It is like they have no standards.

I shop Food Lion and I love mine. I have a choice of Food Lion or WalMart and my Food Lion wins hands down. I'm sure they vary by region but the 4 we have close by are clean and well maintained. Most of the cashiers and other store staff are very friendly and helpful. They often have to check in the stockroom for extra products for me and have never hesitated to do so. Like I said ,I know for a fact that this is not the case in every area but I'm lucky with mine. I will not shed a tear if I never set foot in a WalMart for groceries though.

I love my Food Lion too. There are like 5 FLs really close to my house. I go to Lowes and Harris Teeter, but they are all more than 8 miles away so I try to limit my trips. My favorite store has all teenage boys as cashiers in the evenings so I hardly ever have any problems with coupons. Everyone is really friendly too.

I do stay up late most weeks to see what new FLIPs came out too.

Shelf prices at my FLs are a lot cheaper than other grocery stores as well. So when I have to grab something that isn't on sale and I don't have a coupon for, I am not paying an arm and a leg for it like at the stores that double Qs.

I was out of town a few weeks ago and had to stop into FL for something and it was really run down and creepy. It reminded me why I didn't used to like FL.

Lol, I have that run down foodlion. You see people walking around opening food and eating it and putting it back on the shelf. Kids running around screaming. Stuff on the floors. Its horrible...

I don't care for mine, I never shopped at it until I started using q's. Now I'll stop in for a really good deal and because I discovered they carry the beef sticks (like slim jim's but different brand) DH likes that I had only been able to find at the gas station .. and we all know the gas station is not cheap for anything! I will say the cashiers and staff are all helpful and friendly. I just feel like I need to take a shower after I walk out of it.

Mine is close to the school I work at, so I shop there Aug.-June. Always find coupons, love the free milk deal, never had a hassle about coupon usage.

I wouldn't say I enjoy it....lol, but it's the closest grocery store for miles to me. I get the double coupon rush when I get to Kroger, Safeway, Giant or the occasional HT trip when I'm close to one.

As an employee of Food Lion I would like to say "Thank you" for all of your great comments. And "I'm sorry" for those of you who have not had a great experience at your local Food Lion. For those of you who have had great experiences I would encourage you to call customer service and let them know about the service you receive. To often we are quick to call when we have a bad experience some where but, often forget about those who really need a pat on the back. You can call the store itself or let the manager know what a great experience you had or did not have.
For those that do not like or have not had a great experience all I can say is I can't work at every store in every state. :)
