5% rebate for buying FL brands

Anyone know what the exact details are for this promotion? I had bought a bunch of FL chicken and I got a print out saying I earned so far a 3.75 rebate for having bought FL brands. This promotion is suppose to run for a long while, but it doesn't give any details - like are they sending you the money? Will you get it as a print out to use on your next order?

I haven't seen anything about this promo either and I've bought many FL brand items with the FLIP's. Is there a 1-800 # on the printout to call and ask them the details?

I finally got an email back from FL regarding this promotion.. this is what they said...

Thank you for your recent email. We sincerely appreciate you contacting us.

You will recieve a rebate check at the end of each period. The check will be for 5% of the total amount of Food Lion or private label items that you purchased. The promotion period runs from 5-4-08 thru 8-2-08. I hope that this information is helpful.

.. it still doesn't tell me if this will be a print out after the end of the promotional period or if they will be mailing it.

Where do you live? I have never heard of this before either and I shop FL all the time and buy their brands.

I e-mailed corporate to see if this promotion is only in certain areas and asked a whole bunch of questions in hopes that I can get some more details about this for you guys. I will let you know if/when I hear back from them. They usually get back to me in a few days.

I'm in South Carolina, outside Charleston.

I searched their web site over trying to find info. I went back and reread all my old newsletters to see if FL mentioned it anywhere in them. But nada.

Once again,South Carolina seems to be getting special treatment from Food Lion. LOL

Here's some extra info. I actually got a 3.75 rebate today (which can only be used in Food Lion on my next purchase) in the mail from Food Lion. It came in one of them fold down looking post cards.

Anyway this is what is says...

Earn a 5% Rebate on Food Lion Products. Minimum three $35 puchases required. Some restrictions may apply. See your customer service rep for offical rules. Available in paricipating stores.

Now while this helps explain about the program. It still leaves me with questions. One I don't remember a 2% rebate program to begin with. It would have helped a lot had I known about it. The 2% rebate program seems to now be over? And is being replaced with the 5% rebate program? At least this is how I read it.

It kinda sucks though, that there is norhing on their website referencing this at all. And at least giving a list of which stores are participating. It would sure help a lot of us when we do go shopping. Hate to know I missed out by a dollar or two simply because I didn't know about this.

It also looks like you must purchase at least 3 $35 min, which I take to mean, that as long as you make at least 3 $35 min purchases within the time frame, all food lion products for your other trips still counts even if that particular trip wasn't a min of $35.

This rebate thing is kinda confusing, I wish Food Lion would have explained it better than they did and would have announced it in advance.
