Roll call for Food City-New England chain

Let's see if we can get this forum rocking!! I'm offering up a RAOK to our Food City Shoppers.

Please reply below and make any comments at all about the store and I'll choose a winner or two at the end of this week, Friday night after my kids go to bed.

I'll go first. I shop at the Food City in Turners Falls, MA and only get down there maybe once a month or so. Sales are so-so compared to the other stores in my area, but occassionally they have stuff for really cheap or free.

My store doubles up to $.99 and does NOT accept printables. I think that's the same at all the stores, but not sure.

My store has pretty good meat and usually decent prices on it. I love it when they have chicken leg quartersat $.39lb and usually stock up quite a bit on that.

I've made several unsuccessful attempts to find a website for them so that I could put together a FAQ thread for them, so I guess I'm going to have to shop by there and see if there's any written coupon policy or anything and then get it posted here. If anyone has or can get information on that before I can, please post it in this forum!!

I shop at a Food City in Southern ME. We just recently had a Hannaford open up nearby, so they "updated" the store to compete. It is still not the nicest store, but they do double Q's up to $0.99. They will accept IP's, and I just got 5 bottles of A1 Marinade for FREE today! I also bought an apple and a banana, so I had to pay $0.77...the cashier smiled and said, "That was a good deal." Uh, well, yeah!

Food City also just opened another store in Turner, ME, so they have been having some good deals lately. I have noticed that you really need to watch what is being rung up and catch the (multiple) mistake(s). I had four IP's a couple weeks ago to match up w/ sale items that didn't ring up as sale items. Boy what a mess it ended up being...but I walked out with the correct amt. in my pocket, not theirs.

Also, have you heard of "BankRoll?" It is a punch card program, where you can win $1000 or more, depending on what happens in previous weeks. They draw a name each week. If you have your BankRoll card punched for that week, you win the loot. If you don't, a certain amount of money gets rolled into the following weeks drawing. You have to shop only once per week to get your card punched. The "week" starts on Saturday, which is confusing, especially since the new ad starts on Friday.

It is the closest store to my house, so I will run in there for misc. items if need be.

I just discovererd a food city..in SW? Maine.. Its not to far away and I heard they have great deals and they double coupons!

So I will be making my first trip here this weekend

What should I look for this week... tips, sales etc?

I shop at the food city in turners falls ma. I used to go once a week when Id take my grandmother to the store but since winter is coming to an end, I'll be going more than once a month which is how often Ive been going. I go there more than Big Y since Big Y stopped doubling coupons.

I OCCASIONALLY shop Food City in Turners Falls MA..... since Big Y has just recently stopped doubling, I do a little more to compenste at Food City....ours doubles to $.99, but is not very "eye-catching"....My kids don't really like going there. They think it has a funny smell.....hmmmm
But it's a much older building and all that so I guess it's to be expected?

The meat seems to be much more reasonable than Big Y, that's for sure!!

I found a Food City in Lisbon Falls, Maine. I picked up there flyer. It looked like they may have a few good deals. I wanted to find thier website so I could look at the sales flyer. We don't get it in the papers. Does anyone find Wine Tags or Beer Rebates in these store also?
