QUESTION What is F4L coupon policy

I've heard they accept expired coupons? Is that true and is it only for a certain number of days (ie: 30 days past) or unlimited? I have one in Joliet - any good/bad experiences there? I've never been.

Gotta search out my options since Jewel will not be taking them after May 1st.

What part of the Chicago region are you in? How long they take expired coupons may vary from store to store. When I called and checked with the Crest Hill store in 8/08 they told me they would take expired coupons up to 2 or 3 years old. They are down the block from Ultra who at the time took any expired coupon. Since then the Crest Hill Ultra has made a change in policy and will now only accept expired coupons up to 6 months old, so I don't know if they have shortened how old of an expired coupon they will accept.

the only thing i buy at F4L is the Kroger bottled water (because it's the cheapest in town)...and i'm in and out...it's actually NOT the cleanest store i've been in (not even close!) and they don't have a very big selection, except for bread...loooooooooooong shelves of bread! most of the employees seem nice though...sorry i'm not much help! i prefer Ultra myself!

I just called my local F4L and I found this out (I'm in SoCal):

No expired coupons

Will take internet coupons--no limit--only if they have the bar codes on them and they say "manufacturers coupon" on it

No doubling or tripling, but no limit on regular coupons

They will not take the manufacturer's coupons that have another store's logo on them

Stores accepting expired coupons seems to only be in the Chicago market. We have had 4 chains that were doing it in the Chicago area. Jewel (Supervalu) which has done this since at least the 80's just announced that effective 5/1 they will no longer accept expired coupons, so we are now down to 3 chains that accept expired coupons.

Interesting about your store saying they will not take a mfg with another stores logo. A couple of months ago I was checking IL law in regards to coupons and wine tags. One of the things that was mentioned about coupons in store ads was that it was legal for a store to put its logo on a mfg coupon in the ad. They could not though limit its usage to that store only. The reasoning was that it was considered an illegal discount. The only legal discount a mfg can give is a volume discount. If I'm not mistaken this is part of not only the IL UCC (Universal Commercial Code) but also part of the US UCC. Surprising that they would want to allow a competitor to have an unfair advantage over them.

Sometimes I wonder what management at some of these companies are on?
