FYI Upromise - Save $ for College While You Shop!

Festival now has key tag cards available for the Upromise program!

Here is the Upromise forum on HCW: Upromise

    ---

    What is Upromise?
Upromise is a national college savings network of hundreds of national companies that contribute a portion of the Upromise member's spending with them to the member's Upromise account for the benefit of a future student. (This is not a Festival Foods' program. We are simply a supporting retailer.)

    How do I register?
Go to www.festfoods.com and click on the Upromise logo in the "Featured Links" area on our home page to begin the process.

    Will other retailers be participating?
Yes. Some retailers and companies, including Netflix, Barnes & Noble, Office Depot and Disney are participating. You just need to register the credit cards you use (up to 10 cards) in order for your purchases to be credited to your Upromise account.

How can friends and family get involved?
Just invite your family and friends to sign up with Upromise too, and they can direct their contributions to your future college students. Together, a savings network could result in thousands of dollars in college savings.

Is my personal and account information protected?
Absolutely. Upromise has taken rigorous measures to protect all of your data and personal information throughout the system.

Where do I get more information?
Simply visit www.festfoods.com for details and answers to your questions. Festfoods.com will link you directly to Upromise.com for more information.

    When can I start?
    Sign up for FREE today!

    How does Upromise work?
It's FREE and easy as 1-2-3.
    1. Enroll for FREE at www.Upromise.com.
    2. Pick up your Festival Foods/Upromise key tag at our Service Counter and register it on-line.
    3. Use your Festival key tag and buy any participating product. You will automatically receive up to 5% of the purchase price in your Upromise account.

What products will contribute to my account?
Products that will contribute to your Upromise account are marked on our shelves with a Upromise logo. The logo is right next to the price tag on the shelf so you can easily identify which products contribute to your account.

Not everyone knows it, but the money you earn though this program does not have to be used for college. According to the Upromise website (and from personal experience), you can request that the funds you accumulate in your Upomise account be issued directly to you in the form of a check.

It takes a while, but once I have $40 or $50 I request a check and use the funds on whatever I want. Fun Fun Fun!

Thanks and reps for posting this! I knew that it was possible to request a check, but never really looked into it until you posted this the other day.

I've been doing the UPromise program for a few years now, mostly the e-Coupon portion of it. I don't really base my shopping off of whether I have an e-Coupon for an item or not, I used to just select all the e-Coupons every month and if I happened to buy one of them then I'd get that money in my account. I don't really do UPromise that much any more now that they have SavingStar, but I had managed to accumulate just under $14 in my account.

After you posted the other day I checked into it and was able to request a check for the balance I've earned, now I just wait for it to arrive. Thanks again!
