DD3 Pillsbury Sweet Rolls at the Marion Fareway

Fareway has the Pillsbury sweet/cinnamon rolls in the ad 3/$5.00. I went in to the Marion Fareway to buy some, and there was a sign that said competitors price match 5/$5.00. There is a coupon for $.75 off 2 at coupons.com (zip 90210) and there was one for $1.00 off 2 at the Pillsbury website. That one may no longer be on since the month has changed. Anyway - it makes for cheap rolls and my kids love these!

I went to Fareway tonight to get some of these, but all they had left were the caramel ones. I asked for a raincheck, and the cashier paged a manager...not sure why...they've always just given me one. Anyway, he came up to the register and it was the one I don't care for too much, he doesn't seem to be very coupon knowledgable. I've never exactly had a problem with him, he just is...different. So the cashier showed him that in their ad, they were 3/$5.00, but that they were ringing up at $1.00 each (she'd already called him up before even ringing these up), and he said, "oh, that's an ad match, I think a limit of 5 is enough." Huh? They always let me say how many I want. I didn't care too much, I figured if it was an ad match it was probably Hy-Vee and I needed to go over there anyway. So, when I got over to Hy-Vee, I saw that they were in fact ad matching Hy-Vee, but Hy-Vee had significantly smaller tubes for that price...not the same ones that Fareway had for $1.00. Oh, well...they're the ones that did the ad match, I guess. I'll get my 5 more with my raincheck, even though I do feel slightly guilty since I knew they had made a mistake when they did the ad match. Anyway, speaking of Hy-Vee in Marion...in aisle 10 (the bread aisle), about halfway down, there's an odd Cheerios display. On top of the middle row of boxes of cereal is a little pamphlet with Shrek on it...it contains $10 worth of GM coupons including some that are $1.00/2 of the rolls that Fareay was ad matching at $1.00. I've picked up a few 2 days in a row, but there's still a big pile of these pamphlets.

I think it is funny how Hyvee places some of their coupon displays. I realise it may be the marketing companies who place them not HyVee I found some of the Pillsbury ones in some random aisle and the Promise ones in the popcorn aisle.:shrug7:

In my defense, I will only bid human beings in the auction forum if it's a MM.
