| | Tips for shopping with toddlers and children! My DD is 16 months and I just got her a booster seat for the car. I put it off for the longest time dreading taking her shopping.
Anyway, I took her out w/ me last night and she would not sit. I ended up having to carry her.
How am I suppose to get any shopping done if I have to carry her?
I missed out on alot of deals cause I couldn't look for coupons.

As an aside, a 16 month old is far too young to be in a booster seat. She should be in a 5 pt harness convertible car seat until about 40 lbs.
If you "search this forum" for convertible car seat, you will find several threads on the subject. HTH

| | Re: How do you get a 16m old to sit in carts? I give DD a small back pack of toys to play with in the cart- things that are not out at home to play with. She likes that- I also get her to help me look for the next item on the list, so I dont miss it.
(I can also be bribed to let her sit in the truck cart and "drive.")

| | Re: How do you get a 16m old to sit in carts? Those car carts are definitely a life saver!! (Except for the one store around here that won't let you take them out of the store, so you have to take your child out of the fun cart to strap into a non-fun cart for the few minutes that it takes to get from store to car)
If the toys don't work, try planning your shopping trip around a snack time and bring a baggy of animal crackers or something like that to occupy her while you're shopping.
Our stores usually have free cookies in the bakery which also are a good bribe,( if you're not opposed to bribing with treats.)
