| Re: question for stockpile shower gift *recipients* Laundry baskets are ideal. I agree diaper cakes look pretty but unwrapping things isn't much good unless they are using cloth diapers.

I've known lots of moms who throw a couple loose diapers into their diaper bag so it's not like the only way a diaper is ever used is immediately after taking it out of a pristine package on the shelf. |

| Re: question for stockpile shower gift *recipients* I've made shower gifts out of my stockpile, and, as unattractive as it seems, I took a rather large box, and filled it to the brim with everything you could think a new mom would need. By the time the recipient got to the bottom, the box didn't mean a thing! I would like to think that the mom would be so happy to get the items they need, that having a pretty package wouldn't really make a difference.

| Re: question for stockpile shower gift *recipients* I prefer getting stuff in plain wrapping because I am weird. I really hate to think someone spent $5 on wrapping paper/bows/pretty baskets/etc. that I am just going to throw away. It absolutely drives me batty. I would actually prefer my gifts wrapped in the sunday comics or christmas paper purchased at 90% off.
Even if I did like the things wrapped up pretty, I think I would rather the giver spend the money on an extra bag of diapers than a pretty basket to put them in. The laundry basket is a good idea because it is useful.
This is the only site where I stand a chance of people understanding where I am coming from on this....
PS. Don't open the packages if you can help it. If, for any reason, she can't use it, it would be nice if she could exchange it (might be hard if it was stockpiled) or at least regift it.
