Default What's the best deal on professional pictures?

I have to admit I'm a bit overwhelmed with JcPenney, Target, etc., offers for pictures. I have NO clue on what's the normal price or what's a good deal. Any tips or do you care to explain it all to me?!!! I have TONS of JcPenney offers, but I assume they're all the same...I've never sat down with them all and compared. I'm a bit lost....

I just do the $7.99 package at JCPenney every 3 months. They do a good job, and the price is right.

Mrs.P, what does the $7.99 include? Is there a sitting fee with that? Do I need a coupon for that?

There are coupons in about every other SmartSource insert. No sitting fee!

The coupon is for a free 8 x 10, and either $3.99 sheets or a $7.99 package (37 photos). We just get the package, and it's plenty of pics for those who need them.

Here's the last set we got (a really good shot, given the mood the kid was in at the time):

I go to Portrait Innvovations which is a chain throughout the country. They are like The Picture People in that the pictures are developed within an hour. However, there is no sitting fee and they have 9.99 specials (don't need a coupon) that can be used every 3 months. They do a great job and are super cheap if you don't fall into the trap of ordering additional poses.

Thanks, Mrs.P! Yes, I have plenty of those coupons, just didn't understand what it all included and what was extra. That's a great pic! He's a cutie! Yeah, we don't need a lot of pictures, but I'm sure the grandmas and aunts will want some so 37 pics would be plenty. So it's just $7.99 and no other hidden charges? Sorry so many questions...but last time I read over the coupons I was really confused on what the best deal is. Me and DH have never done professional photos other than our wedding. Well, DS did the hospital photos of course, too. So this is all new to me!

drnuke, thanks, I'll check them out.

I love Portrait Innovations. We used to go to Picture People all the time but then I found out about PI and have never gone back. The $9.95 package is great, but I usually get more than that......I usually get 3 pose packages (3 sheets in each) and then the Special Package and all the pics they took on CD and it costs me around $75, which I dont think it too bad for all the pics we get and the CD. But we only go a couple times a year, so I splurge when we do!

No hidden charges. I pay $8.39 after tax.

They do put in 3 other sheets in hopes that you will pay $20 for them, but I never get them.

what does the PI package include? It seems like JCP might be the better deal.
