Default Re Using wipes tubs and baby food jars/containters

Does anyone have any good ideas on how to re use these? My goal for 2012 (Yeah, I'm getting an early jump!) is to get more organized, become more frugal, save more money with coupons and sales, and just generally have a happier household. My first attempts are to find uses for all the stuff we have laying around, like empty wipes tubs and empty baby food jars or the plastic containers. So I'm hoping the great minds here have some great ways to make use of these. We have six people living in our house (one dh, one me, and four little munchkins ages 6, 3, 2, and 5 months) so we can use any ideas one can think of!

The small jars you can use for paper clips, thumb tacks, etc. When I was growing up my friend's grandpa used to make Christmas Trees out of them. He glued the jars together, poked holes in the lids and threaded Christmas lights so each jar had a light. He sold them and EVERYBODY wanted them.

We use a wipes container for our cloth wipes, but you could use for storing other small stuff, sorting kids toys maybe.

We use the wipes containers to sort smaller toys like bouncy balls, wind up toys, etc. I used them for crayons for awhile too until I got pencil boxes for free from CVS which work better IMO. I like them for temporary storage of things like McD's toys which I generally try to clear out every six months or so. I generally recycled the glass jars but they would be good for buttons and other sewing notions, screws/nails, small batteries, etc.

A lot of men use the glass food jars with screw on lids to organize their nuts and bolts and small stuff in the garage. I've seen many who make a cabinet with wood slats, attach the lids to the bottom of each slat so that the jar can be screwed into the lid - very neat and then they can label each jar with what is in it.

I was just gonna come post that about the jars screwed onto the wood slat, saving! Great ideas.

I like to use baby wipe containers for organizing kid stuff like crayons etc and for holding my cloth diaper wipes.

I know this may not be what you were talking about but I thought of this when you said wipes containers. It is an advent calendar made from wipes lids (I think it is pretty neat).

I use wipes containers to store the kids' flashcards. I also had one for crayons for a while. I've been getting the soft packs of wipes lately, so I don't have any extras lying around.

We got a lot of wipes in boxes at my shower earlier this year, and we use a wipe warmer, so I just drop the wipes into the warmer and buy the HUGE boxes of refills.

We used the wipe containers from the shower to store pens, pencils and sharpies. They fill really well into the desk drawer too. Soo much better than having a basket of loose (and pointy) pens and pencils.

We recycle our baby food jars, but my mom has asked that we start saving them for her. She is going to attach the lids to a board that she's going to mount on her craft room wall and she's going to store her beads in the jars by color.

I usually keep one or two jars handy for leftover rice cereal.

I did the same as the PPs...store pretty much any smaller, loose items in the jars or the baby wipe containers. The wipes boxes can also be used as a makeshift piggy bank for little ones.

If you don't have any uses yourself for the jars then most of the schools will take them. I donated over 300 of them to the local preschool a few years ago and they were begging for more! lol

Use them to store spices or make your own candles using them.
