Default Helpful idea if you have a toddler and are stuggling with dinner...

For the longest time DS has had a hard time with dinner time. We would put his bib on give him his food and he would throw a fit and scream.

A few weeks ago, DH said-you know, I can't stand having anything around my neck (the man can't wear a tie)-maybe DS is the same way with the bib. I went a bought a pack of white little boys t-shirts that are big on him, (cover his lap too) and now we just change his shirt into one of his "eating shirts," when it's time for dinner. He can get food all over it and I can just bleach it. It had made a world of difference at our house-dinner time is now a fun time.

I just wanted to share this incase someone else out there is going through the same thing and can't think of what to try next!
Proud mom to an adorable two year old little boy!

Please excuse my spelling-my LO is on the loose and just learned how to climb-so I am typing as fast as I can!

I did the same with my daughter but for things like art projects that were messy. Actually I just used some old, ugly shirts that I had. After I had her, I gained some weight and knew I was going to lose it. So I got a few cheap but ugly tops. I only had to wear them for a few weeks. They were really huge on her, the arms pretty much fully covering her arms. And the length like a long dress on her. I still have them. She is 13 and she still wears one now for painting.

As for the bibs, I guess I was just lucky. She wore them up to a year old. But I don't think she really wore them much after that. For the most part she was a pretty neat eater. There was a really bad time in a restaurant though. I had ordered her a kid's meal and on the kid's menu was an Oreo cookie sundae. She had it before and loved it. Normally they would bring a tiny scoop of ice cream with a bit of crushed Oreo, drizzle of cholate syrup and a little bit of whipped cream.

But this waitress must have been nuts! It was soft serve ice cream and she put about an 8" pile of it in the dish. A good cup or so of the Oreo topping, unbelievable amount of chocolate syrup and huge amount of whipped cream. She didn't use the typical dish. No way would it have fit in there. It was a sloppy mess before she even began to eat it!

She was wearing a long sleeved and long legged one piece romper type thing. She literally had ice cream and sauce from head to toe because as soon as she could talk, she refused to have someone else feed her. And of course on that day I didn't have any extra clothes in the van.

I had stopped at the store prior, so I did have plastic bags which we put over her so I could attempt to keep the car seat clean. Then I put her fully dressed in the tub when we got home.
