Anyone had hand, foot and mouth?

I have 2 of them right now with it! My 2 year old and my 11 year has come down with a rash around his mouth tonight!!!

I think I might go crazy!!!

I haven't...but taught daycare and we had outbreaks. Ask the doctor for the recipe for "magic mouth wash" made of things like maalox to help coat there throat so they will still continue to drink.

No never but you know what I found to be really interesting is my kids have been very healthy -- knock on wood!-- Almost the entire summer and nothing since they all went back to school. July my oldest had the strep bug passed it to the littlest one and that was it. I switched to using Johnsons & Johnsons baby wash as hand soap in the kids bathroom.. Mainly because all my refill soap was gone. Most of my refill soap was antibacterial and they seemed like every month they were getting sick. Mostly sore throats. Seems interesting that since the soap change they haven't been sick at all maybe it is coincidence maybe there is something to it..

The hand foot mouth I don't think we have every had that here. I am not sure what it is I will have to look in to that. It must be contagious.

One of my twins had something like that before. It was called something else but was close to the some effects and was treated about the same the Dr said. She had fever and her hands,feet and face had all kind of bumps on them. They were red and stood up high on her skin. The fever lasted about 3 or 4 days the bumps about three weeks..

Yep my daughter came home from daycare with it in August, the day we came home from the hospital with my son. Trying to keep an 18 month old away from a newborn...tons of fun. She had them in her mouth and on her hands and feet, but the worst for her was her diaper area. You just have to wait them out. We were lucky that Addison wasn't in too much pain from it and we could control with Advil and Tylenol. Our ped told us that if they were too bad in her mouth we could mix Maalox with Benedryl and we could swab her mouth with it. She wasn't allowed to go back to daycare until all the blisters had broken. For her it took over a week because the ones on her hands and feet were so bad. All the other kids in her room were back within 2 days though. Thank goodness my husband and mother-in-law were here to help. I can't imagine with two!

Magic mouthwash = equal parts liquid Maalox, Benadryl and Motrin. Swab mouth as needed.

I had never heard of this till my whole family came down with it. Oddly enough none of us got the mouth sores but we all got it all over our hands and feet. For my husband and two sons it started with a fever and then the next day spots. For me it was a sore throat and then the spots. Its terrible. The blisters itch so bad then they dry out and peel. No treatment for it either

My twins had it a few years ago. They thought it might have been chickenpocks at first but concluded it was hand foot and mouth. they has sores inside their mouth and spots on their body. no one else got it. no one told us of the magic mouthwash :(
