How much were they? I'm having a yard sale and selling the sizes DH bought too many of. Was it $5? If so, would $2.50 be a good price? They are NIP.

    I also have some 1 piece rompers originally $5.88 that I got for $1, NWT. $2.50? $3?

I've heard a general rule for yard sale prices is 10% to 20% of the retail price. Personally, I always sell all clothes for $.25 each piece no matter if it's new, old or whatever.

sorry I would not give you $2.50 for them if I came..clothes dont sell that good at yard sales so the more you charge the less you will sale and have to find something else to do with it....I have saw people have things high $2,$3,$4 and $5 and they end up taking to goodwill ect because it did not sale...Myself I had reather sale them for .50 to $1 than to hall it away to someone for free but thats just me.

Seems like they were $4 or $5. I know peeps that sell the plus sizes charge more at yard sales.
Those clothes normally sell better - so does the name brand stuff.

Got to take into account some yardsale shopper peeps ,,,only shop yard sales - that's all they do. Go from sale to sale and buy. They don't go to jcp or kolhs - so all you have to do is be cheaper than the thrift stores. Yep they def don't know you can buy 3 things on end of season clearance with a $10/10 jcp q for .59

My niece was shocked at my prices last fall even said she didn't know people would pay that for stuff. My stuff was new to mint - lots of plus sizes with tags and teen age boys stuff. I got $3 to $5 for tops and blouses, $7 for dresses $10 for jogging sets $20 for some old abercrombie stadium jacket coats.
I did have stuff for .50 and $1 too.

My niece priced their stuff at 1980 yard sale prices. Stuff was sold in minutes. NIB shoes, boots and stacked heeled faux fur boots for .50
They even had antique jewelry for .50 and 14k gold earrings for $1.
    They did returns too.

My advise is to have a 2 day yard sale. Just cover it with a tarp - then just come of half the next day.

Lots will ask you to come down,,,even at .50 or .25. Always keep that in mind. They just have to feel like they got a better bargain by asking you to come down.

I would sell those new pjs plus $4, reg $3 and kids at $3. Next day you can always go to 50%.

Oh and gift with purchase offers are great too. I gave away kool aid, shopping totes and dove hair spray one year.

    I used 2048 q's FEB 2011 because of SFShopper ,,,offline,,,,,alot!

Abercrombie and AE stuff I would not mark that low either..For I can get more than that on ebay.
Even plus size unless its like 20 up they wont pay that much for here, those sizes will go for maybe $3 a item. I guess its all in where you are at as to how much people will pay. Here there are about 30 yard sales every Saturday in the paper maybe that has something to do with it also. The we also have a goodwill which on the first saturday of the month everything is half off and if you have a discount card thats 15% more off. There there is a church that holds these give away things onice a month from may threw sept each year. I dont know where they get the stuff but there is tons of it and anyone can take whatever.

Stuff that is NWT or NIP will usually go for about 50% of the price marked in my area. With the PJs and rompers, I can keep them to give as baby shower/birthday gifts...I just figured selling them outright instead of depending on myself to remember that I have them to give down the road was a better option :).

We don't have a lot of thrift shops in our area, and I might see only 3-4 yard sale signs on a Saturday. I guess we just aren't saturated with opportunities for bargains.

LOL! Strange though, that even at $.25, we always have clothes that go unsold. Most of them do sell though. And the "ALL CLOTHES $.25" sign draws in A LOT of people.

I've found that plus sizes clothes and NWT clothes sell much higher than any other clothes. We participate in an online yard sale group for my local area, as well as a couple consignment sales. Kids clothes, name brand, sell anywhere from $1 to $5 per item. Walmart/Kmart brands go for $.50 t0 $1.50 an item.

I think it really depends on the area in which you live. We've seen a great variance in pricing between our county and the next one over on either side.
