WIC and coupons????

Our stores wouldn't allow us to use coupons for WIC but Walmart will price match for fruit/vegetable voucher. I just found that out like two weeks ago, and I'm so excited!! I price matched with some ethnic stores in the area last week( they usually have awesome prices but quality is not very good), and tripled of what I could get with just Walmart prices. Just FYI.

The stores cannot stop you from using a coupon for WIC if it's for the exact product.

example: if your allowed to purchase Welches grape juice on your wic order...you absolutely are allowed to use a .50/1 welches grape juice coupon on that wic whether it helps your bottom line or not. if your stores are refusing..you contact WIC...because that is a huge no no.

It's another story if the coupon was buy milk get eggo's free. I used to live in Utah..and we got checks...I'm assuming you still get checks? Then that wouldn't work...but as long as your not required to purchase only generics..then you should be able to use coupons. And on your fruit and veggie order...you should be able to use a coupon if you can find one that could be used under there requirements.

WIC absolutely does not prohibit coupon use. It actually saves them money and means they can provide more kids with WIC in that state.

Use coupons on with wic for they only have so much in funds to use on wic each year. Which means if you use coupons on your wic purchases then someone else maybe able to get wic becuase the money they have to spend each year can go futher.

Wic is not like foodstamps there is a cut off as to how much money can be spent out total each year on wic cards for mothers to be, new moms,babies and children. So that is why we need to use coupons to make the money last longer so that someone else maybe even you can get the help from wic. Even families that cant get foodstamps can still get wic because there is different guidelines to go by. So a family that cant get foodstamps just because of being a few dollars over on their income and may not be able to afford formula but with the help of wic can.

Not useing coupons because you see the stuff as "free" to you anyway is a selfish act todo because the use of coupons by you could help feed a infant becuase there is funds to give that infants mom wic card to buy the formula with.
