Default Newbie to couponing-- need help! (Esp. Diapers!)

I'm very new to couponing... and my stepmom just had a baby. I wanted to help her out with diapers... so every diaper coupon that comes out, i give to her.
She just puts them in a drawer and forgets about them.

Maybe if i can show her a deal, or show her the math on some sales that are out, she'd be more willing to use them? i dunno.
I've heard of people getting diapers super cheap or free! Where can i look for these deals?

I live in the cleveland area (ohio)
These are the stores in the area:

    Giant Eagle (doubles)
    Kmart (Doubles this week)
    Walmart
    Walgreens
    CVS
    Dollar General
    Family Dollar
    Marcs

start on the main forum and go to "store deals". there you will find your stores.

and what is that saying "you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink". or in this case "you can give a person a coupon and tell them where to use it, but you cant make them hand it over to the cashier".

some do not think that couponing is that big of a deal. except those of us that know the truth.

I am an avid diaper couponer and I have found some awesome deals on diapers!

No matter how excited I get or how much I tell some of my friends (people who even have a lot less money than we do) how great it is, many people just don't want to go to the trouble. They find what works for them, or whatever's easy. If I really want to help someone save money on diapers I will tell them about a good deal at a store I shop at AND give them the coupons at the same time and tell them when they have to use them by. Sometimes even then they don't do it. It doesn't bother me.

But I am already looking around for diaper deals, so it's not hard for me to find the information because I already know. If you want to go to the trouble of figuring it out for her, great. If not, don't worry about it. And another thing, when you've just had a baby, it's really difficult to add anything to your schedule or think about anything extra. If you're already in the habit of couponing and you enjoy it, that's one thing. I got a friend of mine hooked on couponing 3 months before she had a baby. I figured she'd probably drop it for a while after the baby was born, but no way. She's still working on stocking up and she's having a blast! But to start it up new, it'd be hard to figure out with a baby.

if she doesn't want to have to go out and shop you could tell her about signing up for Amazon Mom and Subscribe and Save. The only gotcha there is you want to make sure you cancel your subscription when your baby changes sizes and stuff. But in general if you know how often you need those diapers, it's so great to get them delivered to your door and 30% off, at least for now. It will have you schedule when you want the diapers sent, so you get them automatically. You could even go over there and help her set it up. Now, that's easy AND savings. It's way better than just going to the store and buying full-price diapers. If she doesn't mind using generics you can buy generics on Amazon, or Luvs which are cheaper than Huggies or Pampers.
