I haven't read the entire thread. Could some one please give me the details on making laundry detergent?

My opinion is probably out of the norm, and I'm not flaming anyone for their point of view, mind you... however, I think that having that many kids is ridiculous and sort of selfish. 17 or 18 kids? I'm not even sure how they get through a day, more or less find time to create and have more kids.

I guess if that's what they think is right, go for it, but really I don't see how they can have the attention span to give all of those kids the attention a kid needs just to operate.

Again, not flaming, not trying to start any debate, I'm just sayin'. ;)

For some reason, I saw the number of responses to the thread, and thought it would be fun to check the last comments.

I know a little on making detergent from spending HOURS (before HCW) on a cloth diapering website.

You can make your own detergent with:

Washing Soda
Fels Naptha (my preferred) or Zote Soap, grated
Mule Team Borax

You can leave it dry or "gel" it with water for a liquid detergent.

I just googled the Duggar recipe. It seems like others i've seen & used.

I just found out Anna and Josh were pregnant and was not completely surprised but I was disappointed. I think they should have waited a few years to have kids rather than jumping into it.

Why would they wait, it gives them the attention and money.
I hate to sound negative, but having kids pays.. would the camaras be on them if they were not going to have a baby.

Yay! On their TLC website, the caption next to her sonogram pictures says "Baby M." Does that mean they will name all their children M names? That would be cute!

I do not share the same beliefs as the Duggars in any way, but I find them all very endearing and a pleasant change from Jon & Kate. ;)

MacKenzie Renee (may have the wrong spelling) is the newest Duggar and she's due in October. It's neat to have a M name.
I like them, they are a bit of old fashioned in this crazy world. If I weren't so mean, I'd homeschool my kids and I am going to work on their exposure to tv, I don't think they need to watch as much as they do (sure they love the Discovery Channel and TLC, but what 5 year old requests 'How It's Made'?).
