I could not be surrogate because been that I have kds of my own I know that I would be to attched onice the baby got here and it would be to hard to give it up to its parents even tho I know the baby is their's and not mine and hubby's..

Then if I was able to get pass that I would worry the rest of my life about the child and what kind of paents it has and how its life was going...

I know the money sounds good but some things are just not for sale.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Especially the line, "some things are just not for sale."

Just out of curiosity- How do you go about being a surrogate? Do you just happen to know someone who wants to pay you $25,000 to be their surrogate? Or is there a company you know of? Hope that isn't too personal. I am just interested in the topic. I wasn't sure how people go about finding a surrogate (or being one.)

Also out of curiosity- do you actually profit the entire amount? Or are you responsible for your own medical bills? Cause if that's the case it seems you wouldn't make much of anything.

I developed gestational diabetes while pregnant and now am a full-fledged diabetic.

Even with great health insurance, we've spent way over 25K in medical bills.

My kids were worth it. Chances are I would have gotten it anyway, even if I hadn't gotten pregnant. BUT, if I had it and didn't have a child to love it would be much, much worse.

Tell hubby he can get pregnant and make a whole lot more money.

    Don't tell him that.

I'm a Believer in Christ so for me, no if the plans are to implant fertilized eggs because there are death either because of not attaching or death because some are not used.

It just seems not right to implant another man's sperm into my uterus either. Plus that means biologically the baby is also mine which leads to a whole lot of other circumstances in my honest opinion.

Don't they implant the egg also? I thought the baby would not biologically be yours. It would be the biological child of the egg & sperm source. You would just be the environment basically. But I'm not expert.

I would do it in a heartbeat. Dh and I have talked about it. The only way I would is if the egg and sperm were the other couples. I could not do it if any part of it was biologically mine or my DH. I loved being pregnant and would do it again for someone who needed it.

I'm sorry, but I find the idea of being a surrogate simply to make money disgusting.

Every pregnancy is a risk to both the mom and the baby. What would he do if you developed a complication and died? Is he prepared to be a single dad?

I think its a wonderful thing to do for a couple who can't have children for one reason or another. I would personally have a hard time with it but if the egg wasn't mine it would be alot easier to deal with turning over the baby. I also loved being pregnate, even with twins I enjoyed it. I would never do it just because my husband wanted me to though, it would have to be my decision.

Things are tough right now and i personally don't see a problem with doing it for the money as long as you want to do it and not someone forcing you to do it. You have to be in perfect health and they usually want married woman who have given birth before. I remember reading an article about it and the requirements are tough.

Good luck in what you decide, its an amazing gift to give someone.
