BUT I should mention that DH has twin sisters and one of them has g/b twins! So whenever I got pregnant there is that slight wonderment.
The Dr.s that I saw said having twins has nothing to do with running in your family for it dont in mine. The set that I lost was at 5 months along and were my first then I had two boys(almost 16 & 17)..then 11 years later g/b twins after being told that I would never be able to have aonther child, which was ok for I had two already..I am over weight and was then I had worked so very hard to lose some weight and wham I got prego. The Dr.s said that often just a few pounds of weight loss will do that for a women but he did not know why it happen to me for I had way to many problems with my last to be able to have anymore,LOL but I did..

To be honest to have two the same age was not as hard for me as having one baby and one that was 1 or so....plus the older two boys fought over things so much more than the twins do. The twins are much more closer then the older two ever was at 4 working on 5 years old..Asmeralda is however pretty much the boss over Alex(girl thing I guess) but yet she is the quit one of the two..

I guess this "idea" has been going around for years. Personally, when I was pregnant the 1st time, they thought maybe twins, I thought ohhh maybe a boy and a girl. The the 2nd time I was pregnant they tested for twins, another boy. I guess I'm old fashioned, never wanted to know when I was pregnant. I have 2 wonderful boys (men) and I'm very grateful.

Sorry I'm butting in late! I just now saw this thread & being preggo with baby boy #3, I completely understand how you feel. We tried all the old wife's tales to conceive a girl, but it was not in our cards I guess. I love my boys, and I pretty much know by now that if we try for #4, it will more than likely will be a boy. I have researched spinning, the Microsort method (with low 60% positive outcomes) & PGD (Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis) that has a high 99% outcome, but both methods are very controversial, require fertility drugs and the PGD has to be done through IVF, so it is very, very costly.
So for now we are still deciding on whether or not we are even going to go for a 4th baby because well, we haven't even gotten to #3 yet!!
But I do understand where you are coming from, my only advice from doing a lot of research on the topic (for only myself) is that I would not rely or pay money on any non-scientific method. I had so much advice on when to have sex for a girl, how to have it, what method to use before or after, and none of it worked for us, & in the end I was sad when after going through all that we ended up conceiving a boy. Don't get me wrong, I am happy & very blessed to be having my 3rd healthy baby boy, and I love him so much already, but I do still long for a little girl, and having gone through a bit of heartache it was not worth it to me, I should have just not listened to any advice and just went at it normal & I still would have gotten the same results.
What I am trying to say is, (I hope I am making sense, sorry this is so long!) try if you would like the old wife's tales, but I would honestly go in almost expecting a boy & be very happily surprised if you conceive a girl, because I would hate to see you go through the same heartache I went through. Good luck on any decision you make & I so do hope you do end up with a beautiful & very healthy baby girl!!
On a side note, my girlfriend who was trying to have a boy for baby #3, ended up with another girl, so I will have my 3 boys, and she will have her 3 girls! Funny how things like that work out!

I often want to try to have a third child-however I'm scared I'll have a girl! I don't want any girls!!! It would be my luck that I'd get pregnant with twin girls, eeek!

Old Wives tales don't always work - my sister tried 7 times all of the ideas mentioned here and got 7 boys! I tried with both of my boys, and got boys. They only way I got a girl was to go to China! Adoption is one way to know for sure!
