Congrats on losing 20lbs. Keep up the great work. You want to be healthy for the birth of a baby it is a battle trying to give birth. I am a healthy weight but i was in no means in shape and i had to push for two hours i thought my neck was going to explode. I was totally exhuasted, dry mouthed and i couldn't hold my arms up because they were so sore. Its a work out. When they say you should workout before and during pregnancy they were right. I wish i had maybe i would have been able to get threw it faster who knows. Babies are miracles let me tell you i had a hard time getting both mine into the world. Even in healthy women things can go wrong. You don't want your blood pressure to sky rocket or anything. Great things come to people who wait. I hope your dreams come true for a baby. I have two and im 25 but hey you have alot of time to have babies. Once you have children your life is no longer about you at all. All your time is spent on your children and it can be frustration and exhuasting. You'll love your kids but you'll miss the "old" days when you had time to yourself and a quiet house. good luck!
Congratulations on the weight loss thus far. I think that's wonderful that you want to get your body as healthy as possible before getting pregnant... as for time, I wouldn't worry too much... 23 is very young, and you have lots of time still.![]()

I feel the same way but I'm 42. Talk about the clock ticking!!! I've lost 30lbs so far (started at 315). I'm doing Primal Blueprint. Are you following any particular plan?
You can give a horse a coupon, but you can't make it save.
oh, yes please do get the weight off before getting pregnant! i weighed 275 when i got pregnant with my son, down from 305. I gained 20 pounds in the pregnancy, all in the last trimester. but even still, my blood pressure was so high that my full term son was terribly small at birth. i might as well have smoked through my whole pregnancy. he was only 5 pounds 14 oz, and by the time we left the hospital, he was only 5 p 6 oz. I also wound up with an emergency csection, because my blood pressure in labor was over 225. i very nearly had a stroke.
I lost 80 lbs before I got pregnant, and I was at 245 the day I found out was pregnant. I ate well, exercised (yoga mostly) and I stayed as active as I could. I gained 29 lbs while pg. My kiddo is 7 weeks old and I 15 lbs left to lose until I am at my pre-birth weight, however, I am breastfeeding, so dieting has to wait.
My recommendation is that you visit your doctor and share your goals with them. I did and they helped me come up with a weight loss plan so I could become and stay pregnant and have a healthy, happy baby.

I'm almost 40, talk about clock ticking. Congrats on the weight loss, but yeah, get yourself in the best of shape before getting pregnant. It will help you and the baby, and make delivery easier. You've got plenty of time though. Good luck.
There is no such thing these days as your "clock is ticking" and at 23 I think you are still on the young side to have a baby myself. I know I sound crazy but trust me the older you are the more you can enjoy the baby and be more out to handle things that pop up..Had my first son at 26 second at 27 thought that was it and then I had twins at 38 and I am a lot more easy going now about the things they get into the messes they make and so...I have had many people to say this. In your 20's I think we are still trying to have friendshipes and fun meaning we are in a hurry to do this and that which causes stress add kids to that an its make for drama..
You have time so dont be in a hurry..
