best deals with the new similac 5/1 and 3/1 coupons?

Okay so I said I wasn't going to use similac but with these new coupons out, I think this is going to be our brand of choice for the next few months unless dd has intolerances to it. So where are you planning to use these coupons and what size are you getting?

I would prefer powder because the liquid form seems to have a short shelf life and I will only be using formula as a supplement to breastmilk so I may not be able to use up the liquid before the 48 hour time frame...

Please share the best deals with these coupons, would love to here where everyone is shopping with them. I know walmart has the 32 ounce RTF liquid for usually 3.xx a bottle which sounds like the best price for both the 3/1 and 5/1, (overage with the new coupon rules as well)..

Bummer they are limit one per transaction as that means I will need to do at least 30 different transactions in the next 8 weeks, gah as that is how many 3/1 i just bought off ebay but oh well, it will be tedious but getting dd's first few months of formula so cheap is definitely worth it!

Probably a better deal, if you need the powder, to pair it with a formula check.

It might be a good deal if your looking at powder to try Walgreens if you can get a hand on the Baby Coupon book. That one has a Similac formula coupon in it as well..and so you can use both for one can.

Kroger has a buy $25 get $5 off instantly on baby products, similac is included.

Prices that I can remember:
RTF 1Qt bottle: $5.09 (look under the 12oz powder lids for more $2/1 Q's)
12oz can: $13.xx (I'll dig out to reciept from yesterday later)
Simplepack: $21.00 (look under 12oz powder lids for $5/1 Q's)


Now, which new Q's are you talking about? The only ones I know of are the ones I listed and the ones that are only good on the simplepacks.

I am going to use mine at Wal-Mart. The smaller can of powder is $13.xx Pair the $5 coupon with a $5 formula check and get the can for $3.xx

I have 20 coupons on the way - I will mostly do powder but will get a few RTF's. The RTF similac advance is $5.47 at my WM. Hopefully since both items I am after actually cost something availability will not be a problem.

Coupons are going to be hard to come by as everyone on the other couponing boards are all going crazy over them being a MM - I am glad they are limited to one per transaction. Hopefully that will slow the shelf-clearers down. It looks like only the Similac for Spit-Up (the orange bottle) is the money maker at most locations.

For those of us whose babies use Similac this coupon is going to really help us keep our babies fed for a reasonable price.

Sallyann - these are new coupons that came out in the 4/3 paper. I liked the $5/1 Simplepac- my son only uses Similac so every bit helps. Pairing the $5 coupon with a $5 formula check has bought the price down to $11 a container. I stocked up the other week when Walgreens had it on sale for $19.99- using the $2 coupon in the infant care book plus the manufacturers coupon and the formula check made it $7.99. I managed to pick up 4 of the simplepacs that way. One of those lasts for 4-5 days with my little one.

okay here is my report from walmart as of 4/4:

FREE with overage: similac 32 RTF for spit up 3.86
similac 13 oz advance concentrate cans 4.17 (other varieties were more, but still under 5$)

similac RTF 32 ounce: only the similac for spit up was 3.86, the rest were 5.49, so I got 8 bottles of that...There seems to be quite a bit because in my area it is a wic item, so i imagine they keep it in stock alot. Target, all the RTF were 5.xx, so no free formula there.

But at walmart the small concentrate cans of similac advance are just 4.17, so when buying 2 and using 1 5/1 and 1 3/1 they end up being just .17 a can. they make 26 ounces of formula each with water added. I will probably get some of those as well, and especially if the 32 oz rtf all go back up.

i used up my coupons from yesterday, have my aunt getting formula for me when she heads to walmart and ordered a few sets off of ebay. I will probably end up getting some of the smaller powders cans since i have 4 5/1 formula checks and pairing them with 4 5/1 coupons as a pp suggested, but will mostly be getting the RTF that is just .86 a/c, at least until they go up, I have a feeling they aren't going to be on sale much with these new coupons, but the smaller cans are a decent deal. Oh and the 32 ounce concentrate bottles were 8.88 at walmart, so just 3.88 after the 5/1, it makes 64 ounces, not as good as the RTF that is 3.86, but still not a bad price...

babies r us could be a good place at some point, will have to keep checking the ads...

Believe me, I would like nothing more than to not be using these coupons, I had low milk supply with my ds and I am being realistic this time around rather than letting my baby get dehydrated, and if I end up getting a whole bunch of this formula for free and end up having a better time with breastfeeding, I will be tickled pink and my local pantry will be getting a lot of formula from me, but we are also on a tight budget, so getting dd's supplement for next to nothing is a Godsend right now, even if it is for just 3-4 months!

Best deal? Unfortunatley I don't have the option of trying to get free formula with this coupon. DD has a mild milk protein allergy so we have to use Similac Alimentum. And we can only use the Ready to Feed and not the powder. The powder Alimentum still made her very gassy but she tolerates the RTF pretty well. She takes about 1 bottle of the RTF each day. My insurance does not reimburse for the Alimentum unfortunately, although for DD it is medically necessary.

I am using mine at Target, Walmart, and my grocery store. All these places are $8.99 for one bottle of the Similac Alimentum RTF. So with this coupon I am able to get the bottles for $3.99 each, a huge savings for us.

I have 140 coupons so far. This should get me enough formula to supply us until she is 9 months old. I just hope I can get 140 bottles before the coupons expire. With just one coupon per transaction, it will take a long time to get all of these.

I have been getting 6 at each shopping trip (6 transactions) for the past 3 days. I can tell the cashiers are mad at all the seperate transactions when I come through the line, but oh well. I use my Visa CC for the balance to get rewards. I always pay my credit card in full at the end of the month.

You would think the stores would get mad at the Similac people for putting the "one per transaction" restriction on the coupon because now the store has to pay a transaction fee to my credit card company for each $3.99 bottle I buy.

I am in the same boat with the sililac alimentum...All of my stores are at least 20 minutes away and we are trying to cut back on all the driving we need to do so I only ordered 20 coupons but maybe I should get more

My son takes the regular Similac (the blue bottle/Container). The Sensitive (the orange bottle that is a MM at Wal-Mart) makes him fussy. I feel for you ladies whose babies take the super expensive version. I know the $5/1 is at least some help in bringing the price down.

I really wonder if the ingredients in the Alimentum are that much more expensive than those in the other versions or if the formula companies are taking advantage of parents of children who need the special formula. I don't know what the difference is in the different versions of the formulas.
