I really wonder if the ingredients in the Alimentum are that much more expensive than those in the other versions or if the formula companies are taking advantage of parents of children who need the special formula. I don't know what the difference is in the different versions of the formulas.
The proteins are broken down to near elemental property..so that there gut doesn't recognize the milk proteins in them and react. It is considered hypoallergenic.

It becomes very a very different formula. Also smells and tastes like vomit. And it gave my babies breast milk poops instead of normal formula poops.

I think it smells like dry cat food. The powder smelled much worse than the ready to feed.

DD's diapers are much more solid on the Alimentum. And even more solid since we started her on rice cereal 2 weeks ago. They were very mucusy and watery on the other formulas, and we tried 4 others before the Alimentum (regular, sensitive, soy, and Good Start).

I am just grateful that the Alimentum worked. Otherwise we would've had to go to Elecare, which is uber expensive.

We did Nutramagin...and called it vomit in a can .

It did truly make me sad though...when my sister mentioned that my son literally reeked of it...no matter how many times I cleaned him and changed his clothes

We had mucusy bloody poo's with regular formula and BM...but the nutramagin gave him breast milk poo's until we started rice cereal...then it turned to normal stinky formula poop

Now, which new Q's are you talking about? The only ones I know of are the ones I listed and the ones that are only good on the simplepacks.
Just a fyi for everyone..these are one per transaction coupons. you can use 1 $5 and 1 $3 but not any more in that transaction

Thanks I was just about to ask about this. I went to walmart today and they wouldn't let me use 1 $5 and 1 $3 in the same transaction.

You must have gotten a bug-butt cashier. I used the 5/1 and the 3/1 last week in the same transaction with no problems here in the DFW area.

I have been using mine in a variety of ways - I started with 40 of the $5/1 and 20 of the $3/1. Some of the scenarios I have used (throwing in formula checks as well to stretch everything) - all following the one of each coupon per transaction...

13oz can of concentrate - 4.99 at CVS - use 1 of the $5 coupons
32oz ready to feed - $5-$5.50 at different stores - use 1 of the $5 coupons
    32oz concentrate - $8.88 each at Walmart - get two bottles use a $5 & $3 coupon and a $5 formula check
    Small can of powder - (12.4 oz) - $13.xx at most stores - Use a $5 coupon and a $5 formula check
Simple Pac Powder - $21 at Wal-Mart- found for $20 at TRU over weekend on sale - use $5 coupon and $5 formula check
Single RTF 8oz bottle at TRU for $2.49 - use $3 coupon
    Pack of 8 2oz RTF bottles - $6.99 - use $5 coupon
Pack of 6 8oz RTF bottles -$10.xx - use $5 coupon & $5 formula check (picking up a few to use on vacation so I won't have to worry about washing bottles in a hotel room sink)

I am trying to stock up with as much as possible. DS is 4months so we have 8 more months on formula. I am trying to have a balance between what I spend and how far the formula will stretch. Little man drinks 30-35 ozs a day. If I used all of my coupons on RTF bottles I would only have a 40 -60 day supply and then be back to hunting for discounts.

I use the little 2 oz bottles to top off other bottles. I usually mix powder once a day in a Dr. Brown's Formula pitcher - sometimes the last bottle made out of the pitcher is only 4oz-5oz so I pour one of the 2 oz bottles in to make it the right size for a meal.
