Re: It's a boy and mommy is new at this..
Does she have an outlet mall near by? Ours has a Carters and they always had steals in there. Lots of OOPS! Type stuff. I bought all my blankets there. Sometimes it was the tiniest snag or a mark (like dust from being knocked on the floor, which would wash out easily). The oops' were marked with a red sticker so you could 'see' what they were. We also have a Children's Place outlet, I was just in there yesterday snagging up stuff for 99 cents for my 2 year old cousin (DD outgrew them last year, I was always in there getting 99, 1.99, 2.99 stuff that was in season, in the regular stores MUCH higher).
My diaper genie quickly became a dust catcher. It was more hassle than it was worth, IMO.

Pre-folded cloth diapers are the BEST burp cloths ever! And you can bleach them to get the stains out!! She will get some cute ones that she can take out in public when she feels the need, but for every day, a dozen (or 2) of the cloth diapers are a must have!!
Also, I have heard great things about Boudreaux's but have never tried it. We went with A&D ointment when needed, which wasn't much, but I still keep it on hand, and my 19 year old just took a tube to college with him. It's great for so many things!
Do they have Publix in TX?? I'm not sure they do, but if so, their baby club is fantastic!
Also, isn't she having a baby shower or 2?? Have one be a diaper party and everyone brings items related to changing diapers. Diapers, wipes, butt cream, powder, etc. And ask everyone to bring as many coupons for baby items as they can find and to continue to supply her with them.
Good luck and congrats to your family!!

I don't know about Publix in her area, it's not in mine here.
She did have a baby shower, sadly I couldn't make it and she did get quite a bit of items like diapers, wipes, clothes, I sent her a whole bunch of stuff I got with my Q shopping as well as one of those really neat Korbie diaper bags found here, Korbie 3-in-1 Baby Bag. Part Bassinet, Part Diaper Bag, Part Changing Table.. I wasn't able to go to the shower but I am hoping to be there when the baby is born.
He He, she told me I went overboard, and I told her I hadn't, that most of it was "Free" or "Nearly Free" I think she was shocked at first but now she wants to learn and I gave her the link to this post so I am hoping she will hop in here soon. It can be quite confusing and a little overwhelming to learn the coupon life so I told her to take her time so she doesn't give up on it. Hi Sarah, here's a
to say hello and please join us here, it's a lot of fun learning about the
