What do you mean when you say "a lot of times I needed a new liner even if the cover was fine"? Do you mean the liners don't last and you have to buy more?
gdiapers have a liner that you have to fit in there just right. i did like that they fit snug. you can make your own liners, or you can purchase extra inserts form an AIO (i had bumgenius) and put them in there too...or use a trifold.

the only downfall of the gdiapers is, if you use their inserts you have to buy them. they are expensive. and they have sizes...so you have to buy so many in each size to use them because poop does get all over.

My kids can undo the velcro on a cloth diaper easier because it sticks up more at the ends, especially over time. My son couldn't get disposables off, but he could get the cloth off, my daughter hasn't worn disposables, but she can get any velcro cloth diaper off, in a matter of minutes, wet or not.

The gdiaper has the cloth cover, a plastic liner that snaps in and the insert. The insert bunches and twists in the plastic liner and can cause messes to get on the liner or all the way to the cover.

Thanks guys for the info on gdiapers. I have gotten so many good recommendations on them from people in my neighborhood and was pretty sure I would buy those....now I gotta start my search all over again.

I used cloth diapers with my son... my favorite kind to use were pocket diapers... we really liked BumGenius, Fuzzi Bunz, and Blueberry brands.. but now there are even some made in China that you can get on e-bay that are cheap yet decent (I've tried them on my son for night time.)

I highly recommend you buy a variety of brands/styles before settling on one major kind to use as they all fit and work somewhat different and what works for one person's baby may not work on your baby.

The cheapest way to buy them is by buying used, I highly recommend Cloth Diapers & Parenting Community - DiaperSwappers.com it's a great message board dedicated to cloth diapering and has wonderful selling/trading boards, too!!
