Default Similac Recall: What are you doing with your recalled formula and what are you planning to feed your baby with now?

I have 18 recalled containers of Similac. Also have 6 more bottles of RTF, so it is going to last me about 6 days. DD was on Similac Sensitive. What are you planning to feed your baby with now? What are you planning on doing with your recalled formula? Return it to the place or purchase or ship it to Similac? Also, does anyone know if Enfamil Gentlease is similar to Similac Sensitive when it comes to the lack of lactose? What about Target Up and Up or Walmart brand? Do they have anything similar? I have not done any research on formulas since DD was so good on Similac Sensitive. DD is lactose sensitive/intolerant. TIA.

I've used Target's Up&Up sensitive and regular and DD#2 did fine. DD#1 was highly sensitive to formula and GoodStart was best for her, it was also the cheapest at that time but I don't think it is anymore. Both sufffered from GERD (reflux).
Luckily for me, DD#2 is 2 weeks from being 1 and off formula completely. I've been slowly transitioning to whole milk anyway.

I do have several cans of similac still... do you know if they are offering refund or replacement?

We are going to Walmart brand, I had 2 open cans of Similac Advance, only 1 was recalled so we will finish out the other, then switch...its cheaper anyways... AND Walmart seems to have ones that say "compare to Enfamil" or "compare to Similac" unlike Target that all compare to Enfamil...

DS is 10.5 months old and was going to transition to cow's milk within a few weeks anyway. I gave him some today and he LOVED it...looks like that's what we'll feed him.

The website says the fastest easiest way to handle things is to return the formula to the store you purchased it at. I just called my store (Publix) and they are happy to take it back with no receipt, even the opened/used containers. I'd call your local store before I tried shipping everything back to Abbott and waiting on a refund.

I went to a local CVS store and talked to a assistant manager I knew. She was the one who pulled the formula off the shelves this morning. She said they did not get any instructions on returns. I will wait and ask them on Saturday when I am over there again.

DH just bought some Target Sensitive formula. We will try and see if DD likes it.

Makayla wasn't doing well on the RTF, so we made the decision on Tuesday night to switch to Enfamil.

She's a different child. Completely. No more gas pain.

When we heard about the recall, I felt terrible because she had all the symptoms that came from the contaminated formula.

Before Tuesday I would have said we'd switch back to Similac, but she feels so much better on Enfamil. It really was a blessing in disguise as she's always had tummy troubles.
