Do diapers store well?

DH and I decided we would like one more child. We are not pregnant yet, but i wanted to start looking for deals and stocking up.

My question is "How long to diapers store for?" For instance if I scored enough deals to get all the sized diapers my child will ever need...would they store for 3-4 years or is there something in the diaper that would cause it to stiffen up or fall apart and become no good?

IMO diapers store well, at least where we live (Northern MI) - I've had a few packages for several years (leftover from #1) and have opened and used them with no issues with my DD.

Not sure how well they fair in hot/humid climates though??

I kept one of the (unused - lol) diapers from when my twins were babies because the diapers were so tiny - it has been 13 years and I have seen no deterioration of either and they are just kept in a box inside a rubbermaid bin. Also, I bought some of the clearance Pampers from Riteaid a little bit back and when I opened them, the pamper code exp in 2008 so there were at least 2 years old and no deterioration either. Me too but my "BABY" is now 19 It has been stored in his memory box all this time.

I really don't think they do, but I'd think it is questionable as to, over time, what happens to that gel-pellet stuff that absorbs the liquid.

I don't think the expiration date mentioned was for the diapers themselves.... it was for the pampers code found inside the package.

I found a bunch of diapers stored in my attic and gave them to my sister a few months ago. My "baby" is 12 if that gives you an idea as to how old they were and they were fine.
