| When to get pregnant? I was talking to dh today. We decided that we would both in fact want another child. What I am trying to figure out is when to try to start conceiving. There are a few dilemas.
1. I am about 55lbs overweight. I am about 7 lbs away from being considered obese...even though that would only put me at 193 lbs (I am 5'7")
2. My family and I are going to disney world in August 2011
So here three scenerios and posible outcomes.
1. I get pregnant now and not worry about my weight and have to take a newborn to disneyworld.
2. I get pregnant in february or after (leaving me to lose 2.5 lbs a week and having to go to disney world about 6 months pregnant and not being able to ride many rides and be hot and miserable)
3. Wait untill August 2011 after getting back from disney world that way I would have 1 year to lose 55 lbs and I would be able to enjoy disneyworld.
What would you all do. Just curious. By the way I just turned 27 years old and have an 8 yr old and 3 1/2 year old twins.
To some this answer might be obvious but i am just curous what all you would do.

| Re: When to get pregnant? I am the wrong person to ask...but I would say option number 3
Plus your twins will be almost 5 and maybe in kindergarten or closer to it and you may have a little more time to spend one on one with the new baby. I had an 18 month old and twins and having three little ones at home was/is CRAZY!

| Re: When to get pregnant? We have kinda the same thing going on. We are going to Disney World Thanksgiving 2011 and plan on getting pregnant in 2011 as well with #3. I decided to wait to start trying until I wouldn't be in my 3rd trimester for DW. I had a wonderful 2nd trimester with both my children and would enjoy DW in the 2nd (or even 1st trimester for that matter). I would not consider going to DW (esp in Aug) in my 3rd trimester or with a newborn; why pay all that money to be miserable!!!
I think the weight thing is a non issue because you can have a healthy child either way and if you lose it now; you will have to lose it again after the child anyway. JMO

| Re: When to get pregnant? Option 3! I would not want to take a newborn to DW, even though I've read on other boards of people doing and I think that's just crazy . I went to DW when I was about 20 wks preggo with #2, and I actually had a great time. However, I was with my mom and sister and no kiddos to chase after. So yeah, option 3. Good luck, and how exciting! |

| Re: When to get pregnant? I pick option 3. It will be so much more fun for you not being pregnant or having a newborn. I am like a kid and love rides so that is what I would do. I can't afford to go but are happy you get to. It is also good to loose the weight before getting pregnant because if you don't you might get depressed. Having to loose 100 lbs. is a lot harder and more depressing and it is also bad for you because you might have blood pressure problems. With my last child I was mad (not at getting pregnant, lol) because I had just lost 25 lbs. and was feeling better and wham I got pregnant. I only gained 14 lbs. with her though so I was happy about that. I did eat healthy and watched what I ate which is hard, lol I pray you make the right decision for you and your family.

To some this answer might be obvious but i am just curous what all you would do. | You can plan for a vacation and you can plan a weight loss program, but you can't plan a baby. It sounds like the baby isn't the top of your list, that losing weight and enjoying Disneyland is. It seems like your priorities are Disneyland, weight, then baby. All of your choices revolve around enjoying Disneyland. Being overweight can complicate pregnancies, and nothing was mentioned about losing weight to have a healthy pregnancy.
You can always lose weight, and always plan a vacation, but having a baby isn't always in your control. There are probably bigger dilemmas with a baby than whether you will enjoy Disneyland as well. Having a baby requires self-sacrifice, so your decision depends on what and whether you're willing to sacrifice.
